The Real Question, Are You Immunized in Christ? by Charles Pretlow January 20, 2022
Nation will rise against nation, and kingdom against kingdom. There will be great earthquakes, and in various places famines and pestilences. And there will be terrors and great signs from heaven… And there will be signs in sun and moon and stars, and on the earth distress of nations in perplexity because of the roaring of the sea and the waves, people fainting with fear and with foreboding of what is coming on the world. For the powers of the heavens will be shaken. And then they will see the Son of Man coming in a cloud with power and great glory. Now when these things begin to take place, straighten up and raise your heads, because your redemption is drawing near.” (Luke 21:10-11; 25-28).
Fear and Foreboding—Driving Panic, Paranoia and Despotic Control
If you don’t think the world and America is on the threshold of the Great Tribulation, then you are ignorant of Christ’s warning words found in Scripture or you are stubbornly ignoring all the signs Christ laid out.
The world, Americans and most Christians are held spellbound by the love of this life, unwilling to realize the end is now upon us. Because of the gradual increases in all the end-time signs Christ laid out in Scripture, few realize these end-time troubles will just get worse. What is interesting about Christ’s end-time words is His prediction of how this current spellbound condition would be just like the days of Noah:
“For as were the days of Noah, so will be the coming of the Son of Man. For as in those days before the flood they were eating and drinking, marrying and giving in marriage, until the day when Noah entered the ark, and they were unaware until the flood came and swept them all away, so will be the coming of the Son of Man” (Matthew 24:37-39).
With all these signs coming to pass, there should be an awakening to what Christ taught about how to become ready to stand before Him when he appears. Instead, there is a desire to restore normalcy and save America. This incessant desire continues to keep most Christians and God’s lost sheep in false hope, spinning their wheels trying to figure out how to survive and fight these troubles.
In Noah’s day it was a party-hardy attitude right up until the rains fell and Noah entered the ark. Today, entertainment, luxury living, good food, vacations, perverse sexual passions, marriage and relationship obsessions, job promotions, a new car, cell phones, gaming, social media, year-round spring break debauchery, and much more add up to a universal cultural drunken stupor.
This spellbound condition includes most of Christianity, where Evangelical, Charismatic, and Pentecostal Christians maintain a rich and prosperous life on Earth, in want of nothing. This false sense of security is beginning to crumble with this pandemic and rising persecution. Few realize they have a lukewarm relationship with Christ and are at risk of being spewed from Christ’s mouth.
There is a movement among Christians to prepare for the worst and try to ride out the storm by prepping. My Christian dentist believes America won’t get to back to normal without an armed insurrection and revolution to restore the constitution. His quote, “We won’t get back to normal unless there is a blood bath.”
As these end-time challenges mount up, there is also an exodus from Church attendance, as many lukewarm believers are losing interest in following Christ. Blame it on COVID as the main issue, however, the real issue is a lukewarm relationship with Christ filled with apathy.
Entertaining worship, easy going sermonettes, counterfeit spiritual manifestations (false signs and wonders), along with social good works are symptoms of a people of God in love with this life and the pleasures of this world—asleep at the helm of their life as the end of this age roars to its finale.
Most believers today are driven by carnal energy, and many have become burned out from following Christ from afar. This condition instills loss of interest in the church scene, church work, and lack of divine energy for ministry.
Is this Killer Pestilence Going to Awaken God’s People?
And now, as this pandemic continues, with increased persecution and church attendance falling, panic is befalling Christian leadership where the call for revival and awakening is a constant call to arms—unfortunately this call to restore America as a Christian nation is too little too late!
Now, with the COVID pandemic added to the mix of end-time signs, fear is beginning to grip many. Fear and trepidation will continue to expand amongst the populace as well as the unprepared Christian as these pre–Great Tribulation indicators increase.
Conspiracy theories are running rapid, many are true, however, many are created from fear mongers who don’t properly comprehend Christ warnings and explanation on how the end will unfold. Even worse, few pay attention to Christ’s words on how to escape all that is now starting to come upon the world. Some Christians are realizing that there is no place to escape and hide just as Christ warned: “For it will come upon all who dwell on the face of the whole earth” (Luke 21:35).
On the other hand, many good-hearted Christians who follow Christ from afar are trying to hold back the end-time tide of trouble—a useless waste of time, of resources, and effort. Other Christians have become awakened and realize that all these things are end-time signs, with anticipation that the coming antichrist rule is just around the corner. In paranoia, many panic imagining the activation of the mark of the beast in all manner of ways. Most are ignorant of Christ words on the matter, which again reflects a lukewarm relationship with Christ.
In a recent ministry publication, we wrote: “The coming judgments upon America will make the current administration look foolish because of its inability to give direction or solve the many problems, disasters, and perplexing troubles that are about to befall America and the world. This coming worldwide political chaos and impotency will create a leadership vacuum making way for the antichrist rule.” See the full publication What Did Christ Say About Our Troubling Times?
Indeed, the Biden-Harris administration is a distressing farce and is falling apart. This political debacle is just another sign Christ pointed out to watch for – “And there will be signs in sun and moon and stars, and on the earth distress of nations in perplexity because of the roaring of the sea and the waves” (Luke 21:25).
Satan’s Smoke Screen Distractions: Conspiracies, False Alarmists, Fear Mongers, False Prophets
Christ warned that in the last days of this age, especially during the Great Tribulation period all manner of deception would come upon the world: “For false christs and false prophets will arise and perform signs and wonders, to lead astray, if possible, the elect. But be on guard; I have told you all things beforehand” (Mark 13:22-23).
We are instructed beforehand to be on guard and not be deceived or become bogged down by the cares of this life and luxury living that creates a spell binding condition that so many now suffer: “But stay awake at all times, praying that you may have strength to escape all these things that are going to take place, and to stand before the Son of Man.” (Luke 21:36).
When we cling to the love of this life on Earth, worry and fume over American culture and institutions deteriorating, our attention to Christ’s words and the leadership of the Holy Spirit becomes compromised. Believers in this condition can easily fail to react or in many cases overreact by the many deceptions and troubles. Many will crumble in faith as these world, national, and personal challenges increase.
All the chaos and confusion, false alarms, opinions, mark of the beast theories, false teachings, and political promises are Satan’s smoke screen to deceive, if possible, the true and readied Christian. All this confusion, end-time noise and false teachings are holding most of God’s people in apathy or in panic.
A Compromised Relationship with Christ
Most Christians have a compromised relationship with Christ and don’t realize their condition. As these last days troubles increase, many will fall away or become a victim of a calamity or die prematurely by the pandemic or other medical issues. Many will be assassinated by the powers of darkness as they take on spiritual battles in the flesh.
Few Christians embrace the sanctification process and the discipline of the Lord that facilitates cleansing and healing within. Like Peter, many are doubleminded (have multiple personalities) and are at risk of being sifted by Satan. Many will experience their weak faith in Christ fail because they avoided the discipline of the Lord, recoiling and hiding from fiery trials. “Count it all joy, my brothers, when you meet trials of various kinds, for you know that the testing of your faith produces steadfastness. And let steadfastness have its full effect, that you may be perfect and complete, lacking in nothing” (James 1:2-4).
Having a compromised relationship with Christ puts such a believer at greater risk than that of a true servant of Christ. Working out one’s salvation humbly, in fear and trembling is virtually unheard of from most pulpits. That is why few obtain the fulness of Christ in order to walk in the full armor of God.
The Deadly Reality of COVID
Christ warned of pestilences (pandemics) as well as all the other troubles that would create fear and foreboding. The world governments are in distress as to how to stop this pandemic that is real and deadly, as they ignorantly make knee jerk decisions, making overreaching mandates that limits individual freedoms.
These troubles are part of Satan’s strategy to shepherd the masses towards a one world order leading into the antichrist rule, with the left leaning politicians, along with government appointed science gurus, tech companies, and medical experts ignorantly acting as Satan’s pawns.
This virus is potent and deadly and seems to continue on and on. Many, despite being vaccinated have come down with the virus. However, most of the vaccinated have fared better in not getting the virus or having milder symptoms. The current trend for the unvaccinated is worst symptoms that often requires hospitalization. Politicization of COVID increases by false overstated cases and the suppression of deaths related to the COVID vaccines. The true statistics are buried in various studies suppressed by the media and politized science. This pandemic is a distressing and perplexing problem playing out exactly as Christ predicted as part of the end-of-this-age nightmarish troubles.
Christian leaders are all over the board with recommendations and opinions about these troubles and the pandemic. Few warn as they should concerning this dark hour.
I’m thinking of R. Loren Sandford, how he was warned that we are in the last days, heading towards the Great Tribulation. He refused to give up his Amillennialists position that the Church will usher in the second coming of Christ. Sandford downplayed the rising persecution, unparalleled evil rising in society, and the many end-time signs Christ forewarned would come. Worse, Loren ignored the potency of the pandemic and viewed vaccines as not necessary. Unfortunately, in September 2021, Pastor R. Loren Sandford, died in the hospital due to complications from COVID-19.
This is my counsel: The pandemic is real, and Christ made it clear that this and other end-time troubles will be terrifying and deadly, especially for the unprepared. It is up to each individual believer to hear from the Holy Spirit for themselves as to what they should do – to vax or not to vax and so forth.
This vaccine is not the mark of beast. It is risky to take but does help many. If you are led to not become vaccinated, you better know if you are immune in Christ, because this disease is deadly. Unfortunately, most believers have compromised relationship with Christ and have a hard time hearing from Christ and being led by the Holy Spirit. The only way forward is to follow Christ words on how to escape all that is now upon us and increasing.
The scary trend towards the mark of the beast is revealed with Sweden’s vaccination passport requirements. At the beginning of December, Sweden enacted new rules requiring individuals to have a passport at all events with more than 100 people. Following that announcement, a number of people got microchips inserted under their skin increased dramatically. This microchip holds vaccination information and be scanned. Around 6,000 people in Sweden have so far had a chip inserted in their hands.
Slowly the true mark of the beast science and technology is becoming a global tool to be enforced by the second beast of Revelation.

How Do We Escape All These Troubles and Deadly Threats?
Jesus explained how the end of this age would unfold in the Gospels, but few rightly understand Christ words in order to become ready to endure and escape all these terrible things. “But watch yourselves lest your hearts be weighed down with dissipation and drunkenness and cares of this life, and that day come upon you suddenly like a trap. For it will come upon all who dwell on the face of the whole earth. But stay awake at all times, praying that you may have strength to escape all these things that are going to take place, and to stand before the Son of Man” (Luke 21:34-36).
What kind of strength do we need to pray for that will allow us to escape these things and stand before Christ and be rescued by His angels when He appears?
It is a strength of faith in Christ, in his protection, in his leadership, in his provision, in his power, his healing grace and his mercy!
You can have some of Christ or all of Christ. Having just some of Christ in the end may not be enough.
The call and mission for true leadership is to equip believers in their care to obtain true Christlike character and grow up into Christ: “Until we all attain to the unity of the faith and of the knowledge of the Son of God, to mature manhood, to the measure of the stature of the fullness of Christ… Rather, speaking the truth in love, we are to grow up in every way into him who is the head, into Christ” (Ephesians 4:13, 15).
This strong relationship with Christ (where he is the head and he is our everything) is obtained by developing true Christlike character, molded, and etched by the hand of God within the heart, mind, and spirit of the sincere Christian. Far too many sincere Christians are driven by carnal energy with mixed motives of heart, enamored with the cares of this life and the love of this world. They follow Christ’s name, but do not really know Christ to rightly hear His voice and obey the leadership of the Holy Spirit with pure motives of heart.
Peter followed Christ in a shallow faith and was convinced that he could follow Christ into prison and unto death. In gross denial of his inner non-Christlike character, (even after Christ confronted him with the truth of his weak inner condition), Peter continued on arrogantly. (Peter’s weak carnal condition is a depiction of what most Evangelical, Charismatic, and Pentecostal Christians suffer today. God’s people, especially in America, hear but do not hear, see but do not see.)
Jesus allowed the devil to sift Peter to the point of brokenness. Not only Peter, but the rest of the disciples were thrown into fear and terror, hiding from the Temple leadership and their guards. When Peter initially realized Christ was correct in calling him out as a coward (to the point of denying even knowing Christ), Peter’s denial was finally broken, but found himself full of self-pity and bitterness.
After Christ’s resurrection, the Lord continued to confront Peter on his inner condition and how he loved the things of this life and his own life much more than he loved Jesus.
Breaking Denial and Racing Towards the Midnight Cry Awakening
Jesus is using the COVID pandemic and the ever-increasing end-time troubles to break denial and awaken His Church. Personal trials, sickness, premature death, false prophet’s and confusing end-time false teachings, false alarmists and conspiracy fear-mongers, loss of freedoms from government overreach, financial pressures and so forth are going to increase. These troubles will sift most believers and expose how unprepared they are and how weak their faith is.
Sanctification, Fiery Trials (Discipline of the Lord), and a Life of Prayer: The sincere yet carnal Christian is being forced to wake up to the reality that the end-of-this-age is upon us. In waking up, the true believer must develop a desire to be changed within the inner being, to become Christlike and filled with the fulness of Christ. A profound realization that the end is upon us just as Christ explained: “Now when these things begin to take place, straighten up and raise your heads, because your redemption is drawing near” (Luke 21:28).
Those who are awaken will learn to develop a life of prayer, seeking to be transformed within the inmost self to be Christlike. These believers will renounce false teachings and realize they have been taught to mimic Christlike behavior by developing religious feelings and self-righteous attitudes. Most have learned to ignore and even suppress the truth about their ugly old nature that still runs the show from behind the scenes in daily life. They will begin to see their inner true motives exposed for what they are; selfish, boastful, demanding, full of fear, insecurity, angry outbursts, lusts, and religious self-righteous hypocrisy.
Few believers in this hour embrace the discipline of the Lord, learning to humbly work out their own salvation in fear and trembling, to become sanctified by the Holy Spirit by embracing the truth about the old self (old nature): “Now this I say and testify in the Lord, that you must no longer walk as the Gentiles do, in the futility of their minds. They are darkened in their understanding, alienated from the life of God because of the ignorance that is in them, due to their hardness of heart. They have become callous and have given themselves up to sensuality, greedy to practice every kind of impurity. But that is not the way you learned Christ!— assuming that you have heard about him and were taught in him, as the truth is in Jesus, to put off your old self, which belongs to your former manner of life and is corrupt through deceitful desires, and to be renewed in the spirit of your minds, and to put on the new self, created after the likeness of God in true righteousness and holiness. (Ephesians 4:17-24).
The old self with its carnal ungodly thoughts and feelings that drive unwanted behavior must no longer be suppressed, but rather seriously understood as poison and dangerous. Scripture states: “The heart is deceitful above all things, and desperately sick; who can understand it? “I the LORD search the heart and test the mind, to give every man according to his ways, according to the fruit of his deeds” (Jeremiah 17:9-10).
The initial born-again experience as well as the so-called baptism of the Holy Spirit does not remove the reality of the old nature. Depending on the background of each individual believer, the heart, personal spirit, the mind, and unconscious mind must become sanctified. (Cleansed, healed and transformed.) The sincere Christian must take ownership of this unsanctified condition and work with the Holy Spirit to become cleansed and transformed. As the Apostle Paul put it; this is our labor, to grow up into salvation by working out our salvation: “Work out your own salvation with fear and trembling, for it is God who works in you, both to will and to work for his good pleasure” (Philippians 2:12-13).
The old self must become crucified (made dead), where each imbedded carnal passion, attitude, and belief (conscious or hidden) is brought to the light. The unconscious (spirit of the mind) and secret heart must no longer be suppressed and ignored, but rather paid attention to—so as to be transformed by putting off the old nature and having the new-self put in its place. We must learn to become transformed on the inside, by the hand of God, not by religious dos and don’ts and Christian personality development. To accomplish this, we must take off the blinders and see our inner selves as God sees us, (without condemnation, justifying, minimizing, or rationalizing) then when brought to the light, die to that part of our old nature, and become transformed. This sanctifying process requires obedience of faith and trust in God’s grace and transforming power.
- “And we all, with unveiled face, beholding the glory of the Lord, are being transformed into the same image from one degree of glory to another. For this comes from the Lord who is the Spirit” (2 Corinthians 3:18)
- “Since we have these promises, beloved, let us cleanse ourselves from every defilement of body and spirit, bringing holiness to completion in the fear of God” (2 Corinthians 7:1).
- “Submit yourselves therefore to God. Resist the devil, and he will flee from you. Draw near to God, and he will draw near to you. Cleanse your hands, you sinners, and purify your hearts, you double-minded. Be wretched and mourn and weep. Let your laughter be turned to mourning and your joy to gloom. Humble yourselves before the Lord, and he will exalt you” (James 4:7-10).
By following the above New Testament principles, and working with the Holy Spirit, the sincere believer will develop a true relationship with Christ, gaining strength of faith in Him to escape all the terrible things that are now being unleashed upon the world.
