Decades of passivity leading to ignorance, laziness, arrogance—and sudden destruction.
The American cultural influence upon Christianity has become a deathtrap for most so-called born-again believers. Evangelical and Charismatic Christians alike, within their own cliquish groups and wayward teachings have become dumbed down to the truth of Christ’s teachings—to the point of making many eligible for sudden destruction.
Unless God brings a shrill warning by his Spirit through true servants of Christ, many who believe that they are safe will not be protected, raptured, or enter into eternity. Those who live nonchalantly following Christ will find themselves shut out—just as Christ warned. Few are awake and alert as to what is taking place now and are not prepared for the approaching trouble. They know of Christ, they follow his name yet are not known by Christ—Jesus warned that in the end he would say to many Christians, “I never knew you.”
“Therefore stay awake—for you do not know when the master of the house will come, in the evening, or at midnight, or when the cock crows, or in the morning—lest he come suddenly and find you asleep. And what I say to you I say to all: Stay awake” (Mark 13:35-37).
A Party Spirit Drowning Out Desire for God’s Word
damning condition. Individual Christians no longer seek God and study Scripture for themselves, but rather give themselves to others to do that hard work. The hard work is learning to know the true Christ, to know and understand his words and grow up into him who is to be head and master, intimately knowing Christ who disciplines, guides, and empowers.
Multitudes are being led astray from the true Christ and falling headlong into a vat of American hedonism where nothing short of severe trouble and destruction will begin to jar Christians awake. Christ warned of this dumbed down condition when he said that many would come in his name misleading many.
God’s people, along with the populace of America live for the next thrill, the next exciting techno-innovation, the next Hollywood premier, the next charismatic leader, the next awesome spiritual encounter, the next entertaining leader, the next paycheck, the next church social networking event… the list goes on.
A party spirit has gripped America and most Christians in America, leaving the masses doped up, lazy, ignorant, and arrogant—believing no enemy or divine judgment will ever catch them unprepared.
I challenge each to take time to read the following warnings by Jesus concerning this very time. If we are awake we will know the season of Christ’s coming—however we will not know the day or hour.
Rapture after the Great Tribulation
“Immediately after the tribulation of those days the sun will be darkened, and the moon will not give its light, and the stars will fall from heaven, and the powers of the heavens will be shaken. Then will appear in heaven the sign of the Son of Man, and then all the tribes of the earth will mourn, and they will see the Son of Man coming on the clouds of heaven with power and great glory. And he will send out his angels with a loud trumpet call, and they will gather his elect from the four winds, from one end of heaven to the other.
The Lesson of the Fig Tree
“From the fig tree learn its lesson: as soon as its branch becomes tender and puts out its leaves, you know that summer is near. So also, when you see all these things, you know that he is near, at the very gates. Truly, I say to you, this generation will not pass away until all these things take place. Heaven and earth will pass away, but my words will not pass away.”
No One Knows That Day and Hour
“But concerning that day and hour no one knows, not even the angels of heaven, nor the Son, but the Father only. As were the days of Noah, so will be the coming of the Son of Man. For as in those days before the flood they were eating and drinking, marrying and giving in marriage, until the day when Noah entered the ark, and they were unaware until the flood came and swept them all away, so will be the coming of the Son of Man. Then two men will be in the field; one will be taken and one left. Two women will be grinding at the mill; one will be taken and one left. Therefore, stay awake, for you do not know on what day your Lord is coming. But know this, that if the master of the house had known in what part of the night the thief was coming, he would have stayed awake and would not have let his house be broken into. Therefore you also must be ready, for the Son of Man is coming at an hour you do not expect” (Matthew 24:29-34).
No one knows the day or hour; however, Christ explains from the lesson of the fig tree that we will know the season and see that Christ’s return is near. Most importantly, we are to stay awake!
Most Dangerous Time for the Whole Planet
In October of 1962, the world was at the brink of nuclear holocaust during the famed Cold War. The event that nearly plunged the US and USSR into a nuclear missile exchange was called the Cuban Missile Crisis. Many Americans dug bomb shelters and stored up food and water. During that two-week period in October, grocery stores experienced mass depletion of food and other survival goods and materials.
Then the Cold War thawed in the early nineties resulting in an assumed peace and the end of nuclear holocaust fears. Amazingly, over the last ten or so years Russia and Red China are building towards worldwide military dominance, with Russian bombers making routine patrols along the east and west coast of continental United States, just as it was during the Cold War, but recently adding for the first time frequent forays into the Gulf of Mexico.
With the Mideast turmoil, Russia and China’s sabre rattling antics, along with ISSIS and homegrown terrorists, the world and the USA is in peril of sudden destruction beyond the Cold War years. Few Christians really understand what is about to take place, in spite of what Christ and the Scriptures foretell. Sudden destruction is looming at our doors, and the following passage demonstrates the dumb downed condition most Christians suffer today.
“Now concerning the times and the seasons, brothers, you have no need to have anything written to you. For you yourselves are fully aware that the day of the Lord will come like a thief in the night. While people are saying, ‘There is peace and security,’ then sudden destruction will come upon them as labor pains come upon a pregnant woman, and they will not escape. But you are not in darkness, brothers, for that day to surprise you like a thief. For you are all children of light, children of the day. We are not of the night or of the darkness. So then let us not sleep, as others do, but let us keep awake and be sober” (1 Thessalonians 5:1-6).
From Bad to Worse
Stupid Voters—Stupid Believers—Intentional Deception
One of the Obama Care architects, Jonathan Gruber was recently exposed as stating that the Obama administration deliberately set out to deceive the American people, referring to voters as being stupid. Americans are not necessarily stupid, however, they are misinformed and gullible and not willing to become knowledgeable.
In a similar assessment, most Christians suffer from the same malady, in the form of being ignorant of God’s word and lazy. Most avoid the hard work of due diligence when it comes to investigating and discerning false teachings and evil leaders who intentionally deceive. Most troubling is the inability for most to rightly understand and apply Scripture for everyday living and abiding moment by moment in Christ as they learn to carry out God’s will on earth. Thus, most are out-to-lunch in perceiving the season of Christ coming—few understand the lesson of the fig tree.
As noted in the following passage, the Apostle Paul prophesies of the last days evil and evil deceptions and instructs on the importance of knowing and applying ALL Scripture:
“Evil people and impostors will go on from bad to worse, deceiving and being deceived. But as for you, continue in what you have learned and have firmly believed, knowing from whom you learned it and how from childhood you have been acquainted with the sacred writings, which are able to make you wise for salvation through faith in Christ Jesus. All Scripture is breathed out by God and profitable for teaching, for reproof, for correction, and for training in righteousness, that the man of God may be complete, equipped for every good work”( 2 Timothy 3:12-17 ESV).
Multitudes Thrown into the Valley of Decision
With or Without Understanding?—that is the Big Question.
“Put in the sickle, for the harvest is ripe. Go in, tread, for the winepress is full. The vats overflow, for their evil is great. Multitudes, multitudes, in the valley of decision! For the day of the LORD is near in the valley of decision. The sun and the moon are darkened, and the stars withdraw their shining. The LORD roars from Zion, and utters his voice from Jerusalem, and the heavens and the earth quake. But the LORD is a refuge to his people, a stronghold to the people of Israel” (Joel 3:13-16 ESV).
Evil throughout the nation and the world is rapidly approaching Biblical end-time predictions. The vats of judgment are filling up with evil upon evil and Christians are falling headlong into the sick American culture. Most Christians today are floating in a perverted and defiling culture, filled with pleasure-seeking and high-living lifestyles, wallowing in idolatry and works of the flesh.
Satan, the god of this world is pushing hard to keep God’s people asleep and ignorant. The devil’s plan is to throw as many Christians as possible into the valley of decision without understanding as described in the above passage from Joel.
Like the five foolish maidens, Christians who stay ignorant, lazy, and ill-prepared will succumb to making the wrong choice in the valley decision during the Great Tribulation. How many foolish Christians will take the mark of the beast to survive—giving up their salvation for safety, food, and comfort?
Every child of God who understands what is coming and becomes ready will have no problem in the coming terrible days. Like Shadrach, Meshach, and Abednego thrown into the fiery furnace in the book of Daniel, prepared Christians will have Christ’s protection, provision, and guidance.
Ignorant and Asleep or Awake and Ready?
The Holy Spirit is wooing and warning—we must take heed to what our Lord is saying from Scripture, “And what I say to you I say to all: Stay awake.”
