Meltdown of Civility

Hate, Rage, Vitriol, Barbarism, and Corruption is Taking Over Societal Norms

by Charles Pretlow 6/15/16

anarchyBut understand this, that in the last days there will come times of stress.  For men will be lovers of self, lovers of money, proud, arrogant, abusive, disobedient to their parents, ungrateful, unholy, inhuman, implacable, slanderers, profligates, fierce, haters of good, treacherous, reckless, swollen with conceit, lovers of pleasure rather than lovers of God, holding the form of religion but denying the power of it. Avoid such people. 2 Timothy 3:1-6 RSV

Few Christians understand this prophetic warning given by the Apostle Paul. Most passively stroll through life flirting and even engaging in the last days’ dangers that are rapidly coming to America.

Unwilling to give up the belief that America will be saved from the Great Tribulation and the collapse of all civility, where the man of lawlessness rises to leadership out of the chaos of anarchy—instead most of God’s people drift along unprepared, in love with this present age. And still many more believers are arrogantly floating along carefree, fooled by the false doctrine that the rapture will come before all hell breaks loose. Study the following passages carefully:

Now concerning the coming of our Lord Jesus Christ and our being gathered together to him, we ask you, brothers, not to be quickly shaken in mind or alarmed, either by a spirit or a spoken word, or a letter seeming to be from us, to the effect that the day of the Lord has come. Let no one deceive you in any way. For that day will not come, unless the rebellion comes first, and the man of lawlessness is revealed, the son of destruction, who opposes and exalts himself against every so-called god or object of worship, so that he takes his seat in the temple of God, proclaiming himself to be God. Do you not remember that when I was still with you I told you these things?” (2 Thessalonians 2:1-5).

Further Jesus warned of the hour that is now upon us: “Then they will deliver you up to tribulation and put you to death, and you will be hated by all nations for my name’s sake. And then many will fall away and betray one another and hate one another. And many false prophets will arise and lead many astray. And because lawlessness will be increased, the love of many will grow cold. But the one who endures to the end will be saved (Matthew 24:9-13).

Are You Prepared to Endure to the End?

The meltdown of civility is well on its way, where stress, lawlessness, hate, and savagery will increase and touch everyone as this age screams to its end. Don’t let anyone deceive you in any way concerning how the end will play out and what Christ expects of his followers.

Few are taught by leadership and trained in the Lord’s discipline to detect and avoid the wicked disguised as good or to be led by the Holy Spirit to avoid and escape an evil event or an assault on one’s life. Even the majority of post-tribulation Christians—those who see all these things taking place and know they will have to be strong and prepared, lack the ability to endure to the end. Many of these solid believers think they are ready because they know the truth about the end. Unfortunately, knowing the truth about the end of this age does not prepare one to endure to the end.

Jesus warned specifically about having the strength to escape the end of the age catastrophes: “But watch yourselves lest your hearts be weighed down with dissipation and drunkenness and cares of this life, and that day come upon you suddenly like a trap.  For it will come upon all who dwell on the face of the whole earth. But stay awake at all times, praying that you may have strength to escape all these things that are going to take place, and to stand before the Son of Man” (Luke 21:34-36).

Praying that you may have strength to escape all these things that are going to take place does not mean that God will magically download power when you suddenly need it, praying at the last moment. Nor will God inundated you with spiritual manifestations that are supposedly from the Holy Spirit to magically destress and calm you. These activities and other acts of religiosity do not create inner strength of character or help develop an obedient and deep relationship with Christ that facilitates being led by the Holy Spirit in order to be protected and thus escape the terrible things that are already beginning.

To become ready is to become Christ-like in nature, not by self-power, but by the work of the Holy Spirit and the often difficult discipline of Christ, where the Word of God becomes a living and life changing force upon our being. We must work with God to build our lives upon the Solid Rock.

Jesus explained that a person who hears his words (all his teachings) and does not do them is like a foolish man who built his house upon sand. When the storms came, this man’s house was destroyed. Likewise, when the last days’ storms come pounding down upon everyone, those Christians who did not embrace and do all that Christ commands will find themselves in dire consequences. See Matthew 7:24-27.

Growing in Grace through Discipline in the Lord—to Discern, Avoid, and Escape

Not many Christians realize that persecution and coldblooded evil can suddenly be thrust upon them. The threat of physical harm is increasing everywhere just a Jesus and the Apostles warned. Few know how to walk in the Lord’s guidance, his grace, and his protection. Why?

Because most avoid the harder teachings of Christ and the sound teachings of the Apostles. Shortcuts are taken that bypass the discipline and trials ordained of God that breaks denial, wakes one up to their carnal issues, and transforms Christians to become Christ-like in nature. Most are taught to imitate and act like a Christian through self-effort, learning to mimic instead of becoming truly change in character by the hand of God. (See 2 Corinthians 3:18.)

Grace and holiness comes through the discipline of the Lord and this is what Christ meant in the type of strength that must garnered through a prayerful relationship with God. “It is for discipline that you have to endure. God is treating you as sons. For what son is there whom his father does not discipline?  If you are left without discipline, in which all have participated, then you are illegitimate children and not sons.  Besides this, we have had earthly fathers who disciplined us and we respected them. Shall we not much more be subject to the Father of spirits and live?  For they disciplined us for a short time as it seemed best to them, but he disciplines us for our good, that we may share his holiness.  For the moment all discipline seems painful rather than pleasant, but later it yields the peaceful fruit of righteousness to those who have been trained by it (Hebrews 12:7-11).

True Leadership

It is the fiduciary responsibility of every true leader and ministry to watchfully and effectively correct, challenge, and shepherd those in their care to become disciples of Christ and learn to be led by the Holy Spirit. However, most in leadership are in ministry for the money or to boost their ego.

Leadership everywhere in the body of Christ must realize and take to heart that they are held to a much higher obligation to the Lord and will have to give an account for their sinful attitudes and motives of heart in ministry and in life.

“Obey your leaders and submit to them, for they are keeping watch over your souls, as those who will have to give an account. Let them do this with joy and not with groaning, for that would be of no advantage to you” (Hebrews 13:17).

“Not many of you should become teachers, my brothers, for you know that we who teach will be judged with greater strictness (James 3:1).

An aspect of our ministry is to help ourselves and others prepare mentally, emotionally, and physically— as well as spiritually. Trained in the emotional, mental, and physical to avoid trouble and stop a physical threat that may be thrust upon us while on the streets, shopping, attending fellowship, or in the suppose safety of our homes. (We also teach those in our care how to detect false Christians and wolves who can socially and spiritually attack those in fellowship.)

Krav Maga is the training that we use to help prepare, avoid, escape, or stop a threat upon our lives physically. Unfortunately, as good as this type of martial art discipline is, it does not forewarn in advance of a threat. However, being trained and disciplined by the Lord and led by the true Holy Spirit affords protection and guidance, where the gifts of the Holy Spirit such as a word of knowledge, prophesy, or warning dream can warn days in advance to stay clear of an evil situation.

Because we have committed our lives to the discipline of the Lord and desire to embrace all that he commands, we have experienced deliverance by way of God’s direct intervention. Sometimes by the incarceration, or an affliction of evil doer opposing us, and even preemptive death has come upon an evil person sent by Satan to harm one of us. All to protect us and deliver us from evil and the evil one. Similar to when the Lord took out Ananias and Sapphira, or when the Holy Spirit used the Apostle Paul in blinding Elemis the magician, or by instant death of Herod by an angel of the Lord. (See Acts 12:20-23).

The End Will Not Come All at Once—A Call for Endurance in Persecution

Jesus also spoke of the end of this age in these terms: “See that you are not led astray. For many will come in my name, saying, ‘I am he!’ and, ‘The time is at hand!’ Do not go after them.  And when you hear of wars and tumults, do not be terrified, for these things must first take place, but the end will not be at once… Nation will rise against nation, and kingdom against kingdom.  There will be great earthquakes, and in various places famines and pestilences. And there will be terrors and great signs from heaven.  But before all this they will lay their hands on you and persecute you, delivering you up to the synagogues and prisons, and you will be brought before kings and governors for my name’s sake.  This will be your opportunity to bear witness.  Settle it therefore in your minds not to meditate beforehand how to answer, for I will give you a mouth and wisdom, which none of your adversaries will be able to withstand or contradict.  You will be delivered up even by parents and brothers and relatives and friends, and some of you they will put to death.  You will be hated by all for my name’s sake.  But not a hair of your head will perish.  By your endurance you will gain your lives (Luke 21:8-19).

Thankfully the end is taking its time. God is gracious and merciful in not allowing Satan to quickly create anarchy and chaos in melting down all civility and destroying the foundational fabric of a once stable society. Satan would like to see the end come all at once in order to capture a multitude of ignorant and unprepared Christians. To thrust them into the valley of decision stunned, gullible and unprepared that they might embrace the anti-Christ’s new world order and rulership.

Satan would like to not only take out the foolish Christians as explained in the parable of the ten maidens, but also capture as many sleeping wise maidens as possible, (sincere believers who are unprepared). Thus Christ in this parable warns, “Watch therefore, for you know neither the day nor the hour.” (See Matthew 25:1-13).

So these terrible times of persecution, stress, and lawlessness are dragged out in a slow progression by God’s grace and mercy. To create Christ-like character and instill the strength to endure, so that many wise but asleep Christians wake up, become ready so that their lives may be spared. To emphasize Christ word previously quoted: But the one who endures to the end will be saved -and- By your endurance you will gain your lives.

Naked and Exposed

Coming soon – an intense giving of account to the Lord for content of heart!

by Charles Pretlow 3/3/16

EXPOSED

“For the word of God is living and active, sharper than any two-edged sword, piercing to the division of soul and of spirit, of joints and of marrow, and discerning the thoughts and intentions of the heart. And no creature is hidden from his sight, but all are naked and exposed to the eyes of him to whom we must give account” (Hebrews 4:12-13).

Christian, brace yourself!

From the remnant bond-servants of Christ down to the lukewarm follower—a time of personal judgement is coming. A giving of account to the Lord is about to fall upon the whole of God’s people. The time for living in cheap grace is coming to end.

God is about to pour out pressure and circumstances that will lay bare the thoughts and intentions of the heart—for all to see. A formal thrashing is coming, “His winnowing fork is in his hand, to clear his threshing floor and to gather the wheat into his barn, but the chaff he will burn with unquenchable fire” (Luke 3:17).

A Stern Prophesy for those of have an Ear to Hear

God’s people, from the grandest of leader, down to the lowly church attendee, are all about experience a wave fiery trials that will expose the thoughts and intentions of the heart that will unnerve the saintly and terrify the lukewarm.

The affairs of this world are becoming more stressful, in some cases beyond measure. Now Israel and the Christians are in the crosshairs of worldwide hatred and persecution, and this outer pressure is ever growing in America (a nation founded on religious freedom). Satan has come down to make war on the saints knowing his time is short. The devil’s schemes should be obvious to every Christian, however; few see the hand writing on the wall.

Now, from the least to the greatest in the kingdom of God, this outside pressure of persecution from the world wrought on by devil will be internalized. God is about to allow hordes of demons to cut loose and bully, sift, oppress, and use hidden human devils disguised as Christian to harass and torture God’s people.

This prophetic warning describes the increase in the Lord’s last days threshing processes to purify His people. Yes, we have seen exposes´ and judgments upon wayward leaders and false teachers. However, much of the false teachers and predators in the pulpit have gotten a free pass to continue spreading false doctrines and myths to promote their agenda of self-glorification.

Why? Because God’s people love to hear the wide-gate and easy-way teachings that nullifies the painful conviction of the Holy Spirit concerning ill motives of heart, greed and frivolous living, carnal works, and love of this world.

The carnal and self-righteous believer is about to get a dose of fiery trial. False teachings and ill motives of heart in serving Christ will blow up in the face of every hypocrite and carnal believer—and the sincere saint will be driven completely into the arms of God the Father, to live as true bond-servants of Christ. No religious gimmick, false prophetic, or name-it and claim-it carnal hyper faith scheme will stand in this coming test.

God is determined to break denial and hardness of heart. This wave of fierce testing will seemingly be a never ending fire that will expose the true inner carnal character, defilements, and wicked motives to be seen for what they are. The double minded bitterly jealous believer will be forced to see in themselves as who they truly are within. The outer sham of Christian personality and varnished rotten character is about to be stripped away. Like the Apostle Peter, many will weep bitterly over being forced to see how shallow their love for Christ really is.

Know how to Endure and Benefit from this Coming Thrashing

The time for living dangerously with no thought to become tempered and ready is ending. God’s tough love discipline will fall heavy on all. Those with a good heart (like those Christ described in the parable of the sower) will embrace and endure this becoming naked process ordained by God.

Unfortunately, many will fall away from Christ entirely or turn to the end-of-this-age rising Ecumenical Apostate Church (the harlot church of Revelation). The valley of decision is coming to many who believe they are true-blue to our Lord, but have yet to sit down and count the cost of becoming a true disciple of Christ. (See Luke 14:25-35.)

It is one thing to warn, but more importantly, sound doctrine is to be provided on how to endure and reap the benefits of working with God in crucifying the works of the flesh. If you want to belong to Christ, then allow Christ to expose what is in your heart that is contrary to His heart and His nature.

Indeed, no creature is hidden from his sight, however, that is not my point or God’s purpose. Of course God knows all, right down to the very last issue. The problem is we do not see our hearts and inner character as He does. And it is up to us to submit to His discipline in daily living to see ourselves in the truth of His light.  Let His light shine deep into every fracture, crevice and ravine—holding nothing from Him or hiding your eyes from what His light reveals.

This can be accomplished by giving Him permission to expose within us what we can’t see and what we don’t want to see. When we make this kind of covenant with God, he will tenderly but firmly work truth into the hearts and minds of those who say, “Lord, do whatever it takes to show me, correct me, change and make me Christ-like.”

The key to endure this sanctifying process is learning the Biblical principles of sanctification and how to apply God’s Word appropriately, by His Spirit. This must be done sincerely and consistently with maximum effort in cooperation, as we humble ourselves under His mighty hand.

“Humble yourselves, therefore, under the mighty hand of God so that at the proper time he may exalt you, casting all your anxieties on him, because he cares for you.  Be sober-minded; be watchful. Your adversary the devil prowls around like a roaring lion, seeking someone to devour. Resist him, firm in your faith, knowing that the same kinds of suffering are being experienced by your brotherhood throughout the world.  And after you have suffered a little while, the God of all grace, who has called you to his eternal glory in Christ, will himself restore, confirm, strengthen, and establish you.  To him be the dominion forever and ever. Amen” (1 Peter 5:6-11).

Extreme accountability to the Master is the only way to get through this coming deluge of personal trials. He has a plan for each sincere follower of Christ, and it is up to each to discover that plan personally, obey Him in it, and fulfill it. In this sanctifying work, we cannot speed up this plan, but we can miserably slow it up by not learning how to cooperate.

 Likeminded Fellowship and Proper Accountability

Please take note: If you have ears to hear, playing it alone and staying a nomad Christian hiding in the wilderness will not benefit much longer. It is time to become committed to a likeminded fellowship. That may be impossible for you in your current circumstance. Start praying now to be connected and working in ministry with a likeminded fellowship or a group of committed Christians like yourself. Flee the apostate and lukewarm fellowship! In fact, run for your life as you flee.

If led by the Holy Spirit, we provide opportunity for online fellowship and resources to encourage you and give you support. What we preach and teach is the whole counsel of God and stems from years of training and discipline, often in the wilderness of obscurity.

As a team being raised up by the Lord, we provide weekly Thursday leadership and counseling classes in addition to our Sunday fellowship. You are certainly welcome to become part of our team. Watch here.

 More to Come

Look for more messages on this crucial work that the Lord is brining upon His people. It is our prayer to see each reader grow in true grace and Christ-like character.

Jesus warned of this hour, “But watch yourselves lest your hearts be weighed down with dissipation and drunkenness and cares of this life, and that day come upon you suddenly like a trap.  For it will come upon all who dwell on the face of the whole earth. But stay awake at all times, praying that you may have strength to escape all these things that are going to take place, and to stand before the Son of Man.” (Luke 21:34-36).

Given Over to the Great Lie

Powerful last days deceptions—even causing the elect to be at risk

lies-truth“The coming of the lawless one is by the activity of Satan with all power and false signs and wonders, and with all wicked deception for those who are perishing, because they refused to love the truth and so be saved. Therefore, God sends them a strong delusion, so that they may believe what is false, in order that all may be condemned who did not believe the truth but had pleasure in unrighteousness” (2 Thessalonians 2:9-12).

2015 proved to be full of signs of the times as the end-of-this-age continues to race towards its finality. We see the continued building up of lies over truth in America, where multitudes of lost souls and Christians alike embrace distortions of truth and outright lies. All because people prefer what they are told, even if it is a lie. This is part of the activity of Satan in preparing the world and a multitude of Christians to whole heartily receive the anti-Christ, (the lawless one).

 The Mystery of Lawlessness

In politics, street protests, in education, in the corporate world—all across society a mysterious ground swell of illegal and immoral behavior grows. The ever increasing hatred of righteous grows as evil is called good, and good is called evil—and the righteous-moral seem totally impotent in stopping this tide of lawlessness. Now few dare to speak out lest they become targets from the enraged-deceived crowds and from the immoral who are in political power who exercise a strong public voice.

The Apostle Paul in 2 Thessalonians also explained how the mystery of lawlessness was already at work in his day, yet restrained from full manifestation until the appointed time. And we are racing towards that appointed time where the lawless one will be revealed. Unfortunately, because the increasing lawlessness has been subtle and slow in development (a deceitful work of the devil that has taken centuries to perfect), few believers see how the stage is almost completely set for the anti-Christ to step out in world view and bring forth the Great Lie.

The deception is growing captivating the masses including foolish Christians looking for anointed leaders who prophesy only good is coming and promise to straighten things out. In the end will these popular prophets and teachers will have only been used by Satan to groom many of God’s people to embrace the anti-Christ. Christ said of the coming deception, “For false christs and false prophets will arise and perform great signs and wonders, so as to lead astray, if possible, even the elect” (Matthew 24:24).

Indeed, the coming deception will be a spellbinding mystery as a multitude of on fire Christians as well as lukewarm believers, and especially apostate Christians become swept up with the false. Across all denominations and fellowships, Christians are becoming all the more charmed by false prophets who perform GREAT signs and wonders.

God is Testing His People

Enthralled with signs and wonders performed by special leaders, Christians everywhere ignore the word of God and pursue wolves in sheep clothing as intermediaries between them and Christ. Much like the Pope being elevated to the grand potentate go-between for Catholics and God.

Few Christians are taught to test the operating spirit over these idolized leaders who walk in great spiritual power. In the Old Testament, God warned his people thus:

If a prophet or a dreamer of dreams arises among you and gives you a sign or a wonder, and the sign or wonder that he tells you comes to pass, and if he says, ‘Let us go after other gods,’ which you have not known, ‘and let us serve them,’ you shall not listen to the words of that prophet or that dreamer of dreams. For the LORD your God is testing you, to know whether you love the LORD your God with all your heart and with all your soul. You shall walk after the LORD your God and fear him and keep his commandments and obey his voice, and you shall serve him and hold fast to him” (Deuteronomy 13:1-4).

Few are Taught to Fear God, Hear and Obey His Voice, and Hold Fast and Serve Christ Only

From the Baby Boomer Christian to the Millennial Christian, over the last forty years most have embraced (in a subtle progression) false teachings. Sound doctrine on being personally trained and disciplined by Christ himself has all but died out. False prophets and dreamers of false visions have taken God’s people into gross darkness where spiritual mysticism and magic thinking has become the modern Christ. Most Christians today are following a false Jesus created by false prophets and lying teachers who manufacture and sell a different Gospel than that of Scripture.

Few see the coming powerful deception that will come through manifest signs and wonders performed by the devil disguised as the power of God. The gradual obsession with the thrill of spiritual manifestations has led to the idolatry of signs and wonders as the lust for higher doses of sensuous spiritual experiences ever grows.

Even Greater False Spiritual Manifestations Are Coming in 2016

False manifestations with mind numbing and emotion suppressant powers will be delivered by new false prophets in the next wave of sensuous spiritualism. This next false awakening will be allowed by God to pull in and seal the fate of weak and false Christians who refuse to embrace the truth—believers who prefer the emotional pleasures of false spiritualism.

God is allowing a strong delusion to come upon spiritually-sensuous Christians who are addicted to happy feelings and the pleasures of the carnal life. Few Christians have given up love for this world and learned to walk in the joy of the Lord abiding in the unseen kingdom of God.

And now Satan is about to be allowed to present the biggest counterfeit movement to date—to fall upon a multitude of Evangelical, Charismatic, and Pentecostal Christians. All this because God’s people refuse to embrace the Spirit of Truth and grow up into the true Christ. This next false wave will be in direct conflict with God’s final call upon a sleeping end-time church. This counterfeit movement will try to overshadow and drown out the coming true and final move of God—the soon to come midnight cry awakening.

God will not Force Feed Truth Upon His People

God’s people the Jews wanted proof concerning the Lordship of Christ before they believed, and they continually looked for a sign on the spectacular level to test Christ. Jesus sighed deeply in his spirit and refused their demands saying, “Why does this generation seek a sign? Truly, I say to you, no sign will be given to this generation” (Mark 8:12).

On the same vein, God’s people today are looking for signs and wonders before they believe. And God is allowing this last generation of Christians to get what they are lusting after. Another wave of false prophets is coming to mislead more carnal and false believers by performing signs and wonders that come to pass on an artificial level. The false are glorified while servants of Christ who bring true but hard messages and warnings are ignored and even demonized. A battle between the true and the false is coming, much like the war of signs and wonders between the Pharaoh’s court magicians and Moses.

No clear sign from heaven will be given to dispel unbelief for an evil and adulterous last days generation. Rather, God is sending a strong delusion, “so that they may believe what is false, in order that all may be condemned who did not believe the truth but had pleasure in unrighteousness.” Yet, true servants of God are coming with the message of the coming bridegroom—they will have signs follow them, but only promote the coming Christ and how to endure the coming Great Tribulation.

For the sincere believer who desires to embrace the true Christ as an obedient servant, these words of Christ will be honored, “Ask, and it will be given to you; seek, and you will find; knock, and it will be opened to you. For everyone who asks receives, and the one who seeks finds, and to the one who knocks it will be opened. Or which one of you, if his son asks him for bread, will give him a stone? Or if he asks for a fish, will give him a serpent? If you then, who are evil, know how to give good gifts to your children, how much more will your Father who is in heaven give good things to those who ask him!” (Matthew 7:7-11).

The Only Way to Discern the Last Days Great Lie by the Activity of Satan

Indeed, if the sincere asks, seeks, and knocks for personal revelation of the true Christ and the true Holy Spirit—that encounter with the living God will surely come to pass. For Christ says to us all, “If anyone loves me, he will keep my word, and my Father will love him, and we will come to him and make our home with him. Whoever does not love me does not keep my words. And the word that you hear is not mine but the Father’s who sent me” (John 14:23-24).

And God himself will deliver his own out of the hands of the evil one and protect them during the coming terrible-horrific times leading to Christ’s appearance.

The End will not be at Once

Avoiding the Blood Moon, Harbinger, and Shemitah Panic

end-timesMost Christians are still hesitant to declare that the end-of-this-age is upon us; however, there are many who are seeing Biblical end time signs coming to pass at an alarming rate and are beginning to panic.

Current events and recently published books describing patterns of judgments from history and from the Scriptures are stirring many to anticipate the end to be within a matter of months, even days.

Few today are searching Scripture and seeking God’s direction in order to comprehend what Christ taught concerning the times that are now upon us and how to become ready. Those announcing that something is about to happen are missing God’s purposes for these events. As many study and speculate, few allow Christ’s words to take precedent in their interpretations. There is only one correct scenario for the end of this age, the one that Christ taught.

“From the fig tree learn its lesson: as soon as its branch becomes tender and puts out its leaves, you know that summer is near.  So also, when you see these things taking place, you know that he is near, at the very gates. Truly, I say to you, this generation will not pass away until all these things take place.

Heaven and earth will pass away, but my words will not pass away.  But concerning that day or that hour, no one knows, not even the angels in heaven, nor the Son, but only the Father. Be on guard, keep awake. For you do not know when the time will come” (Mark 13:28-33).

Here are more important words of Christ concerning the end, “See that you are not led astray. For many will come in my name, saying, ‘I am he!’ and, ‘The time is at hand!’ Do not go after them.  And when you hear of wars and tumults, do not be terrified, for these things must first take place, but the end will not be at once (Luke 21:8-9).

STAY AWAKE

You will know the Season, but no one will know the Day, Hour, Month or Year

We are in the generation that will experience the end of this age and the signs that Christ spoke of are pointing to His return to be in the very near future, indeed Christ second coming is at the very gates. This understanding should have been embraced by all Christians back in the 90’s, if not earlier. Yet today, in spite of the mounting evidence in the fulfillment of Christ’s words, most of God’s people are paralyzed.

Christians are continually swayed by all the different false interpretations and conjectures by most leaders on how the end will play out. Few see for themselves the truth and shake themselves to stay awake, for Jesus said, “And what I say to you I say to all: Stay awake” (Mark 13:37).

As some Christians are beginning to realize that this is the season of Christ second coming, many are pointing to time frames for possible disastrous events to take place, such as a great economic collapse, the overthrow of the American constitution, earth quakes, marshal law, nuclear war, or an attack on Israel that will be devastating. Many set dates, months or a year as to when these events will unfold.

Jesus addressed these trying and anxious times by stating, “It is like a man going on a journey, when he leaves home and puts his servants in charge, each with his work, and commands the doorkeeper to stay awake. Therefore stay awake—for you do not know when the master of the house will come, in the evening, or at midnight, or when the rooster crows, or in the morning—lest he come suddenly and find you asleep.  And what I say to you I say to all: Stay awake” (Mark 13:34-37).

Israel Alone in the World and Christians Hated by the World

As for the period of time that is now upon us (the season), we see what Jesus said would happen in Matthew 24 and other related passages. Wars, tumults, persecution of Christians, great fear upon the whole world, vexing immorality, and Israel as a people and as a nation no longer trampled upon by the nations of the world. Of the Jews, Jesus foretold, “They will fall by the edge of the sword and be led captive among all nations, and Jerusalem will be trampled underfoot by the Gentiles, until the times of the Gentiles are fulfilled (Luke 21:24).

The times of the Gentiles are now coming to an end, because the nation of Israel was planted and continues to grow, where Jews worldwide are returning from their centuries of captivity to their own land. Now the whole world is set against the security and welfare of Israel as her enemies boldly proclaim annihilation for all Jews.

God has protected the nation of Israel since its foundation in 1948 and will continue right up to the day of Armageddon and beyond. Stop worrying about Israel, it is the condition of God’s people, the Christian that should be of real concern, for soon most Christians will be trampled upon.

Yes, hatred and persecution for believers has begun, for Christ warned us, “You are the salt of the earth, but if salt has lost its taste, how shall its saltiness be restored? It is no longer good for anything except to be thrown out and trampled under people’s feet(Matthew 5:13).

Christianity has turned into churchianity, full of hypocrisy and corruption, and most seemingly on fire churches are in love with this world, prospering yet lukewarm. God’s people are bumbling and stumbling as the world is busy throwing Christians under the bus and trampling upon their religious rights.

Christians can expect more insane persecution, hatred, and death throughout the world as hatred towards Christians continues to increase, and now even in America. The massacre of college students in Roseburg Oregon recently demonstrates the increasing waves of persecution in the United States. In this mass killing spree the gunman singled out those who were Christian and summarily executed each—shooting those who professed Christ in the head at pointblank range.

Soon it will miserable for Christians in America, at least for those who still genuinely confess Christ. This trend in persecution is following these words of Christ:

“Then they will deliver you up to tribulation and put you to death, and you will be hated by all nations for my name’s sake. And then many will fall away and betray one another and hate one another.  And many false prophets will arise and lead many astray. And because lawlessness will be increased, the love of many will grow cold. But the one who endures to the end will be saved. And this gospel of the kingdom will be proclaimed throughout the whole world as a testimony to all nations, and then the end will come” (Matthew 24:9-14).

The Only Good News—the Coming Kingdom

In above passage Christ lays out a portion of his scenario (the correct scenario) concerning how the end will unfold. Following the event sequencing in this chapter we can clearly see where the world and Christians are in the end-of-this-age event line. (The end-of-the-age is not a time line that one should try to calculate, but rather the sequencing of events, where the time between each event is orchestrated by Father God—and only He knows the timing and durations between each event, including Christ’s return.) However, in these events we see a pattern of turmoil and tragedy growing exponentially with intensity and frequency.

Some of Father God’s purposes in the seemingly long and sporadic time-line between these events is to wake up His people in time, to raise up His true messengers, and to clean house. Again, the length of time between these end-of-the-age events are becoming shorter and shorter, like the pangs in child birthing.

In the end-of-the-age event sequencing, we are approaching mass persecution towards Christians that will facilitate a great falling away of the false Christian, leaving a true and faithful core of believers who will suffer and endure to the end—who will be part of the final testimony to the whole world concerning the coming kingdom of God.

Yes the Gospel of Christ has spread worldwide, but because of the weak testimony of God’s people, the world treats Christianity like any other religion. However, after the coming persecution and house cleaning of Christ’s church, a powerful message will arise from a remnant of true believers. When the smoke clears from the soon to come pressured falling away, God will herald with great force the good news of the coming Kingdom (the preaching of Christ’s scenario concerning the end of this age). And this gospel of the kingdom will be proclaimed throughout the whole world as a testimony to all nations, and then the end will come!

And then the End will Come!

This soon to come great and powerful awakening and testimony by the true Church of Jesus Christ is what will signify the start of the end. Towards the end of this announcement period of the coming kingdom, the anti-Christ will appear and the Great Tribulation will begin, where every kind of disaster will occur almost simultaneously, forcing the world to embrace a new world order to the save the day. And with this coming upheaval the end will finally come with the Great Tribulation harvest of souls that will culminate in the rescue of the saints (the rapture) at the end of the Great Tribulation period.

This period of time (the Great Tribulation) will be cut short by God himself, as Jesus said in this passage: “And if those days had not been cut short, no human being would be saved. But for the sake of the elect those days will be cut short” (Matthew 24:22). So stop listening to lengths of time and time-date calculations. The purpose is the harvest souls for the kingdom of God—so let’s get down to business and do God’s will and become ready.

“Then one of the elders addressed me, saying, “Who are these, clothed in white robes, and from where have they come?”  I said to him, “Sir, you know.” And he said to me, “These are the ones coming out of the great tribulation. They have washed their robes and made them white in the blood of the Lamb” (Revelation 7:13-14).

Again, stop looking at dates and time frames and look to Christ’s words concerning the events that are now taking place. The end has been in the making for some time and will not come at once. As a ministry we see the hour approaching and we are praying for more time to get ready, which is at Father God’s prerogative.

If one knows the end is looming then one will take Christ’s words to heart, “what I say to you I say to all: Stay awake!”

 And…

“But watch yourselves lest your hearts be weighed down with dissipation and drunkenness and cares of this life, and that day come upon you suddenly like a trap.  For it will come upon all who dwell on the face of the whole earth.  But stay awake at all times, praying that you may have strength to escape all these things that are going to take place, and to stand before the Son of Man” (Luke 21:34-36).

 Introduction

This message is blunt and to the point. There is no time to soften what must written to help awaken God’s people from their destructive-drunken stupor. Most Christians are intoxicated with the pleasures of this life, the love of money, and socializing as they play church. God’s people are not prepared to victoriously endure the coming dark and destructive days leading to Christ’s return.

Christ’s and the Apostle’s words concerning the end-of-this-age must be embraced in clarity—they are not to be tampered with. And tampering has been the popular approach in preaching and writing about the end-of-this-age and current condition of God’s people as we approach creation’s darkest hour.

This warning stems from years of study, ministry, and the discipline in the Lord. Our ministry message appeals to the sincere believer who is tired of being deceived and played. Like the Apostle Paul’s expressed intent, this message also is not given to appease, solicit funds, or pander:

“For our appeal does not spring from error or impurity or any attempt to deceive, but just as we have been approved by God to be entrusted with the gospel, so we speak, not to please man, but to please God who tests our hearts. For we never came with words of flattery, as you know, nor with a pretext for greed—God is witness. Nor did we seek glory from people” (1 Thessalonians 2:3-6).

Therefore, the whole counsel of God is presented in this volume to jolt God’s people awake, an exhortation upon each reader to break their own personal apathy and become serious about serving Christ. Each of us must be prepared by His discipline for the coming hour. Those who have an ear let them hear what the Spirit is saying to God’s people.

Many on-fire Christians will not be prepared to endure the coming dark hour, falling prey to Satan’s deceptive work upon the world.

Of this hour, Christ warned: “But watch yourselves lest your hearts be weighed down with dissipation and drunkenness and cares of this life, and that day come upon you suddenly like a trap.  For it will come upon all who dwell on the face of the whole earth. But stay awake at all times, praying that you may have strength to escape all these things that are going to take place, and to stand before the Son of Man” (Luke 21:34-36).

Chapter 1

Fulfillment of the Times of the Gentiles

America is no longer the Apple of God’s Eye

Christians must understand what is happening to America and why this nation is plunging into darkness, losing its long history of being blessed and protected by God.

A shift in emphasis upon all nations of the world is taking place, where the nation of Israel and religious conflicts are now the focus for the world’s woes. Soon the nation of Israel will become the center of God’s attention as America continues to slip into internal chaos, becoming paralyzed in affecting the world’s affairs as the nation heads for judgment.

Jesus explained that this sudden end-of-the-age shift will take place when the nation of Israel is restored. Christ speaks of how God’s people (the Jews and the nation of Israel) will be decimated, and then reestablished: “They will fall by the edge of the sword and be led captive among all nations, and Jerusalem will be trampled underfoot by the Gentiles, until the times of the Gentiles are fulfilled. ‘And there will be signs in sun and moon and stars, and on the earth distress of nations in perplexity because of the roaring of the sea and the waves, people fainting with fear and with foreboding of what is coming on the world. For the powers of the heavens will be shaken. And then they will see the Son of Man coming in a cloud with power and great glory. Now when these things begin to take place, straighten up and raise your heads, because your redemption is drawing near’” (Luke 21:24-28).

Those centuries of captivity for the Jews came to an end in 1948 when Israel became a nation in the heart of the Middle East and then the great Jewish exodus began. Jews from all over the world are still pouring into the nation of Israel, signifying the fulfillment of Christ’s prediction, where the times of the Gentiles are coming to an end.

In 1967, Israel gained control of the city of Jerusalem in the Six-Day War, though there is still in an ongoing heated dispute with Palestinians over Jerusalem and the site of the temple. During its long history, Jerusalem has been destroyed twice, besieged 23 times, attacked 52 times, and captured and recaptured 44 times.

The old city of Jerusalem is the site of the Jewish Temple Mount, where the Jewish Temple once stood before it was destroyed by the Romans some forty years after Christ predicted its destruction. Now, on the Temple ruins stands the Islamic Dome of the Rock shrine. A quasi peaceful standoff has been reached over control and use of the temple mound, where part of the Jewish old temple mount called the Wailing Wall is used by the Jews for worship.

The times of the Gentiles (the rule of non-Jewish peoples over the Jews) is ending. The fulfillment of Christ’s prophesies concerning the end-of-this-age is being demonstrated almost daily as Israel becomes the center of worldwide contention and a major reason for the distress affecting all nations.

Because of Israel’s existence as a nation, the world is crashing into chaos and the mounting troubles are becoming so unnerving, peoples of the world will soon become paralyzed with fear—for Scripture tells us the current chaos and trouble will get much worse.

Christ foretold that his imminent return would be at a time when Jerusalem was no longer controlled by the Gentiles. This and other signs of Christ’s return are bursting forth every day, yet most Christians in America refuse to acknowledge that America’s institutions and culture has gone pagan and its position of worldwide influence is coming to a screeching halt.

Historically the US has been a staunch defender of Israel; however, America is rapidly changing its position in supporting Israel, and also rapidly becoming less and less a credible broker for peace in the world and protector of the nation of Israel.

America was never excluded from Christ’s predictions concerning the distress of the nations or the end-of-this-age worldwide moral depravity. Just as Christ predicted America is falling headlong into confusion, immorality, lawlessness and is now besieged by a continuous stream of bewildering problems.

All the nations of the world are being stressed, perplexed, and internally filled with chaos as terrorism, religious wars, and the earth careens in upheaval after upheaval, and a worldwide culture of wickedness grows exponentially.

All these things are what Christ warned about, thus: “Now when these things begin to take place, straighten up and raise your heads, because your redemption is drawing near’”

The End of the Church Age

Like the Temple, the Physical-Institutionalized Church is coming to its End

At the time that Christ came to the Jews, the temple worship system had again become corrupt. The chief priest and most in leadership became so arrogant and self-righteous that in their religious pride they became hardened beyond reach. Temple leadership rejected the living Christ even in the face of miracle after miracle and the obvious fulfillment of all prophesies concerning Christ’s first coming.

Those in leadership knew Scripture inside and out, yet because of jealousy, greed, and love for recognition they refused to recognize Jesus as the Christ—thus, in the end they led the Jewish nation to reject their Savior. “He came to his own, and his own people did not receive him” (John 1:1).

By following their corrupt leaders, God’s people rejected Christ and his teachings—and in this they also rejected God, thus incurring the loss of God’s blessings and His protection. Again, as quoted earlier, Jesus prophesied concerning Israel, “They will fall by the edge of the sword and be led captive among all nations, and Jerusalem will be trampled underfoot by the Gentiles. (Luke 21:24). Christ referred to those days, as days of vengeance against the people of Israel.

Jesus also revealed what would be the condition of God’s people (Christians) when the times of the Gentiles are fulfilled. He warned the following: ….  end of sample

Walk as Citizens of Christ’s Kingdom

Let the Wicked have America—we get it all Back in the End!

whitehouse-rainbow

LGBT Rainbow Light Shining on the Whitehouse

With the Supreme Court ruling on gay marriage, America has taken another step into judgment. Unfortunately few Christians really understand that this landmark decision is part of the fulfillment of a key prediction by Christ—the complete moral downfall of the world as the end-of-this-age nears.

For the sincere Christian the hard fact to swallow is that America leads the way in this rising sea of wickedness and perversion. This decision by the Supreme Court is a major birth pang of the soon to emerge physical kingdom of God—currently an invisible kingdom that Christians are to be abiding and walking in now, before Christ appears. (Most Christians have one foot in the kingdom of God partially abiding in Christ, with the other foot living for the pleasures and prosperity of this world.)

The urge is to step up the fight to reverse this high court decision and other immoral laws instituted over these last fifty years. However, for Christians and moral conservatives, this fight was lost a long time ago. To continue to fight legally, in the public square, or pointing the finger from the pulpit will only invite more wrath from the wicked.

The majority of the American culture has turned pagan and the Church of Jesus Christ has but a remnant seeing the hand writing on the wall and praying for more time. More time to allow God’s people to wake up and get ready for persecution, judgment, and complete global darkness and tribulation.

Our fight should be dealing with the wickedness and deceptions in the body of Christ and the evil strewn within. Our fight must now, more than ever, be directed towards our own purity and obedience to Christ and become engaged in his war for a spotless bride.

Hypocrisy Fueling the Fires of Persecution

Jesus said that a major sign of his imminent return would be the whole world evolving into a culture of wickedness, pleasure, and corruption—specifically Christ described the time we are in now to be as it was in Noah’s generation and during the days of Lot. (See Luke 17:20-27.)

A pleasure seeking madness has overcome society that includes far too many believers. God’s people are ignoring the signs Jesus warned concerning his soon return. In Noah’s day they all were living it up until the flood came and swept them away.

And now the homosexual agenda in America is reaching the boldness of the wicked homosexual gang of rapists stalking Lot’s guests. The men of Sodom were now hunting straight men looking to satisfy their perverse lust. This same evil has invaded America and is now given legal Carde Blanche to carry on its perverted agenda, even to defile and sway our children in public schools.

The LGBT agenda is pounding on our doors to intellectually, morally, and spiritually assault the righteous. They will not be satisfied with this court decision, but are now embolden to pursue in rage an agenda to sway everyone to embrace their wickedness. God has given them up to a base mind and corruption and now they are demanding in irrational lust that the righteous accept them wholeheartedly, a vile form of getting in God’s face to mock his rejection.

The wicked reject God and his righteousness and since all mankind lives by his grace and breaths in his presence, it’s no wonder the wicked take on the devil’s nature—a reprobate rebel. They know instinctively and unconsciously sense they have been given over to a degenerate mind. The wicked feel God’s rejection–yet denying their doomed condition is due to their perverted sinful lifestyle. For ‘In him we live and move and have our being’ (See Acts 17:22-34.)

God knows how to condemn the peace of the wicked, for the Lord will keep them in spiritual misery until they repent, or be swept away. The more we pronounce judgment upon them, the more the wicked will attack in rage against God’s people (both the self-righteous and the righteous in Christ). And that is where most on-fire Christians do battle—to live for the pleasures of this world—while self-righteously serving Christ pointing the finger at the wicked. (See Romans 2:1-11.)

Christians today are fighting the wrong battle, trying to preserve America’s past, to make sure America is not judged, and that the blessings of America’s constitution remain. Christians are more worried about preserving Disney Land’s magic kingdom then walking in holiness in the kingdom of God.

Attempting to confront and stop this agenda will only incur more rage, just as Lot was threatened when he stood against the homosexual mob as he attempted to protect the visiting angels of the Lord. Read the account from Genesis and take note of how the LGBT gang in Sodom treated Lot and how only divine supernatural intervention spared Lot from being brutally raped.

“But they said, [to Lot] ‘Stand back!’ And they said, ‘This fellow came to sojourn, and he has become the judge! Now we will deal worse with you than with them.’ Then they pressed hard against the man Lot, and drew near to break the door down.  But the men [visiting angels] reached out their hands and brought Lot into the house with them and shut the door. And they struck with blindness the men who were at the entrance of the house, both small and great, so that they wore themselves out groping for the door” (Genesis 19:9-11).

The body of Christ is to be ambassadors of Christ, to sojourn in the world and not become of the world, but rather live as citizens of the kingdom of God—certainly not to judge the wicked and point the finger at the ungodly. As the Apostle Paul exhorts, “For what have I to do with judging outsiders? Is it not those inside the church whom you are to judge?  God judges those outside. ‘Purge the evil person from among you’” (1 Corinthians 5:12-13).

Any further attempts to stop this tsunami of wickedness will just incur further abuse, harassment, and persecution. As far as the wicked are concerned, God’s people lost all credibility because of the hypocrisy, self-indulgence, and scandals that continue to ooze from Christianity. We witnessed a major threshold crossed in 2006 when Ted Haggard, then president of the Evangelical Association and senior pastor of New Life Fellowship in Colorado Springs, fell from grace.

The media storm resulting from Haggard’s exposed debauchery was bewildering and the damage control by the so-called Christian moral majority was pathetic in dealing with another church exposé (minimizing, justifying, rationalizing, and covering up secret sins in the church). That November (2006) was the end of the Evangelical political influence as the House of Representatives fell to a liberal majority, putting Nancy Pelosi in the driver’s seat to promote more wicked legislation.

The way of truth is now trampled upon and the wicked are unleashing a firestorm of revenge against the Christian right. Just as predicted by the Apostle Peter, “But false prophets also arose among the people, just as there will be false teachers among you, who will secretly bring in destructive heresies, even denying the Master who bought them, bringing upon themselves swift destruction.  And many will follow their sensuality, and because of them the way of truth will be blasphemed.  And in their greed they will exploit you with false words. Their condemnation from long ago is not idle, and their destruction is not asleep” (2 Peter 2:1-3).

What’s Next?

Increased Persecution and Rainbow Vexation of Weak and False Christians

The Apostle Peter describes the anguish and vexation Lot endured while living amongst the wicked in Sodom and Gomorrah. (See 2 Peter 4-10.) This same type of vexation will continue to increase as Christians continue to be subjected to lawless deeds by the wicked as they publically indulge in defiling passions. Many Christians will fall into overwhelming temptation as did Ted Haggard, because they avoided the cleansing fires of purification in the disciplining trials allowed by the Lord. False doctrines that so many embrace today will not protect the defiled and lukewarm Christian as these vexations and persecutions increase. “Since we have these promises, beloved, let us cleanse ourselves from every defilement of body and spirit, bringing holiness to completion in the fear of God” (2 Corinthians 7:1). Ted Haggard suffered from childhood defilements that false doctrines of this day teach to ignore or cover-up.

The gay marches have turned into exhibitions of walking filth and perversion—partial and total nudity, erotic symbols and perverted costumes, even urinating on themselves as they parade—a rainbow display of pride in total depravity. It is befitting that they chose the rainbow as the LGBT banner—an ironic mocking of God’s promise never to judge the wicked with another universal flood.

The rainbow coalition along with the far political left will not stop at this court decision, but inflict persecution towards anyone who rejects their agenda. This is a call for perseverance for the sincere saint, just as Jesus warned.

Already many fellowships and denominations are succumbing to these pressures by the rainbow coalition. Many are falling away from the living God, accepting the LGBT perversion as a lifestyle sanctioned by God.

The beheading of Christians by ISSIS is a surreal sample of the end of the age persecution that will eventually engulf the world with insane rage towards Israel and the true Evangelical-Charismatic –Pentecostal Christian. Soon you will see many on fire Christians fall away, denying Christ or joining the apostate churches. The false ecumenical super-church that is now emerging will become another evil tool in Satan’s arsenal in his attempt to destroy the bride of Christ.

It was in 1974 that I was first exposed to the true prophetic. David Wilkerson’s book, The Vision was given to me by a fellow Marine as he headed for Bible College upon retirement. This prophecy changed my life as a Christian, hitting me so hard that I was led to seek a release from active duty to pursue fulltime ministry. Miraculously, my honorable discharge came within months of my request, even though I had five more years to go on my second enlistment in the Marine Corps.

David Wilkerson’s book should be read by every sincere Christian and taken to heart as they scour Scripture for confirmation. Back in 1974 when his prophesy was published, just about everyone scoffed, ignored, or minimized Wilkerson’s vision—few at that time could imagine such ungodly and troubling things coming upon America. Pick the book up today and see for yourself how accurate David’s vision was.

Concerning the homosexual agenda, David saw many denominations and individual Christians embracing the LGBT rainbow rebellion, read the following excerpt from his 1974 vision.

Homosexuals and Lesbians Welcomed by Super Church

I see this super church, in the guise of “understanding,” accepting homosexuals and lesbians into its membership. Homosexual and lesbian love will be vindicated by leadership of this church union and will not only be welcomed but will be encouraged.

Homosexual and lesbian ministers will be ordained and given places of authority in this church union, and will be heralded as new breed of pioneer introducing new concepts of love and evangelism.

I see coming, in nearly every major city in the United States and around the world, homosexual and lesbian churches catering exclusively to the spiritual needs of their own kind, with full recognition and support from organized religion. Sunday school and church literature will be distributed in study curriculum suggesting to children and teenagers that homosexuality is a normal and acceptable form of Christian sexual practice.

Most tragic of all, I see the day coming when the majority of homosexuals will no longer seek help from the church. Instead, they will be defended by the super church, and admired for their courage and willingness to be different. This super church will accommodate itself to the weaknesses of man’s flesh and will set out to comfort mankind in their sins. Guilt complexes will be blamed on old-fashioned “sin-condemning” preachers who speak out against the hang-ups of those who were once considered candidates for help and counseling. New teaching efforts will be focused on an attempt to enlighten men on how to live with their problems and, in fact, to enjoy these weaknesses as “gifts from God.”” Wilkerson, David. The Vision, Fleming H. Revell Company. 1974

America and the world have culturally crossed the moral point of no-return. God’ people are to be light and salt to the world—but that influence has been worn down to a remnant struggling to keep their heads above water. These beleaguered saints, like Abraham beseeching the Lord to spare Sodom and Gomorrah, are realizing there is insufficient number of righteous people to bring about revival, to turn back the populace from full depravity. Most of the remnant are stuck in the wilderness, crying out to anyone that will listen—pleading for Christians to get ready because trouble is coming and so is Christ.

Partially to blame for America’s downfall is the body of Christ—in our current state we have lost our divine potency to bring true reformation to America, and many deceived Christians are about to be judged with the wicked.

And like Lot and his family, so to, God’s people and a multitude of good-hearted lost souls must see and hear the true Church of Jesus Christ herald the only good news in these last days. The true and only message is: wake up to Christ’s very soon return and come away and be cleansed from the love of this world, its defilements, and its pleasures.

But like Lot lingering when told to leave, most Christians are lingering, in denial, or deceived and wavering—trying to preserve a sodomized America from its doom. Let the wicked be dealt with by the living God who is love and also a God of wrath towards the wicked and unrepentant.

Leave Them Alone

Jesus Ignored the Thief who railed at Him

Now is the time to understand what Christ taught concerning the end-of-this-age where people will no longer respond to the call to return to God and morality—especially in America. Now is the time to give up the love of this world and to give up the American dream as being God’s promise land.

The bride of Christ must become pure and separate—a priestly people living in the kingdom of Christ—truly emanating Christ within, which can no longer be faked. The lost sinner has no bearing or beacon in this hour, because the church of Jesus Christ is playing church and not living Christ.

Christ is not formed within most sincere believers; however, the fires of persecution and vexations will drive the carnal believer to holiness and to abiding in Christ. Persecution will cause the true believer in Christ  to no longer work for the Lord religiously, and to no longer be driven by false teachers fueled by carnal spiritual energy and the counterfeiting works of the devil.

Forget converting the wicked and stopping the immoral flood. We must ignore their ranting and raving and let God judge the wicked and come away from the love of this world. Jesus ignored the thief that railed at him, and we should ignore the wicked as they rail at God and rebel against his Holy convicting presence.

We must take to heart the exhortation from the Apostle Peter and believe that God knows how to spare the godly and properly deal with the wicked: “Then the Lord knows how to rescue the godly from trials, and to keep the unrighteous under punishment until the day of judgment, and especially those who indulge in the lust of defiling passion and despise authority” (2 Peter 2:9-10).

If we as a people walk in Christ’s righteousness, the wicked will fall to their own demise, yet many of the deceived amongst the wicked may come away and repent if the body of Christ becomes pure and holy. God wants a holy people that he can draw (by his Spirit) lost sinners to, and not have them become condemned in false Christianity, hijacked by self-righteous finger pointing Pharisees, and definitely not die in their sins.

Because Christianity, with its public representation today, has lost its divine influence upon American, God has no choice than to first judge his house. “For it is time for judgment to begin at the household of God; and if it begins with us, what will be the outcome for those who do not obey the gospel of God? And ‘If the righteous is scarcely saved, what will become of the ungodly and the sinner?’” (1 Peter 4:17-18).

As the birth pangs and persecution increase, and the true body of Christ becomes pure and holy, many trapped in the LGBT lie will repent and seek help from true Christianity. Even so, the wicked rainbow coalition will pursue them and attack any ministry attempting to help in recovery. As a ministry we require former LGBT people to sign a disclaimer that indemnifies our ministry from any coercion on our part in their desire to repent and become changed by Christ.

Refining Fires of Persecution and the Great Tribulation

Producing a Rapture Ready Pure Bride, the Final Awakening, and the Final Harvest of Souls

The fires of persecution are finally reaching the lukewarm American church, leaving most Christians confused and misled by false prophets, keeping the gullible and unprepared saint in turmoil. The Lord Jesus is allowing the devil to sift lukewarm Christians in America and the western nations—in order that the lukewarm and backslid Christian may fall away or become sold-out servants of Christ.

Like Moses dealing with Korah in the wilderness rebellion, where many of God’s people were swallowed up by the earth, so too, the fires of persecution will separate the wheat from the tares (weeds) that have grown side-by-side within the body of Christ.

Christ will have a rapture-ready bride purified by fiery trials and through persecution that will purge, cleanse, heal, and transform the body of Christ. A great falling away is about to hit the so-called Evangelical-Charismatic -Pentecostal Christians, leaving only truly transformed servants of Christ standing when the smoke clears.

The true Church of Jesus Christ will emerge as a remnant of true servants of Christ who will herald the midnight cry, “Behold, the bridegroom! Come out to meet him” (Mathew 25:6 RSV).

First the Gospel of the Kingdom—Then the End Will Come

The Only Good News for the True Saint and a Lost and Dying World

“And this gospel of the kingdom will be proclaimed throughout the whole world as a testimony to all nations, and then the end will come” (Matthew 24:14).

Many Christians think the worldwide spreading of the Gospel of Christ will bring an end to evil and sin’s tyrannical reign over mankind. To the contrary, the spread of the Gospel has become an exploding powder keg that brings division, just as Jesus described:  “I came to cast fire on the earth, and would that it were already kindled!  I have a baptism to be baptized with, and how great is my distress until it is accomplished!  Do you think that I have come to give peace on earth? No, I tell you, but rather division.  For from now on in one house there will be five divided, three against two and two against three.  They will be divided, father against son and son against father, mother against daughter and daughter against mother, mother-in-law against her daughter-in-law and daughter-in-law against mother-in-law” (Luke 12:49-53).

Christ will have a holy people proclaiming the only good news for the confused lukewarm Christian and lost sinner. The only prophetic message that God is backing is, “Behold the bridegroom! Come out to meet him.”

For the kingdom of God is coming through Great Tribulation. Additionally the message to God’s people will include: Come away from the world’s wickedness and the love thereof and God will become our Father and he will use the purified bride of Christ for the great and final harvest of souls (see 2 Corinthians 6:14-18).

Satan wants to destroy the testimony of the true body of Christ, so that beleaguered, deceived, and lukewarm Christians, along with people of every nation would not know the truth concerning the current judgments of God, the coming wrath of God, and coming 1,000 year reign of Christ.

Therefore, beloved understand that God has ordained his people to endure the coming persecution and Great Tribulation—to be a testimony to whole world. That the Apostle John’s revelation of the end-times will be fulfilled:

“After this I looked, and behold, a great multitude that no one could number, from every nation, from all tribes and peoples and languages, standing before the throne and before the Lamb, clothed in white robes, with palm branches in their hands, and crying out with a loud voice, ‘Salvation belongs to our God who sits on the throne, and to the Lamb!,… Then one of the elders addressed me, saying, ‘Who are these, clothed in white robes, and from where have they come?’ I said to him, ‘Sir, you know.’ And he said to me, ‘These are the ones coming out of the great tribulation. They have washed their robes and made them white in the blood of the Lamb.  Therefore they are before the throne of God, and serve him day and night in his temple; and he who sits on the throne will shelter them with his presence.  They shall hunger no more, neither thirst anymore; the sun shall not strike them, nor any scorching heat.  For the Lamb in the midst of the throne will be their shepherd, and he will guide them to springs of living water, and God will wipe away every tear from their eyes.’”  (Revelation 7:9-17).

Make no mistake; Christ was specific as to when the rapture would occur: “But in those days, after that tribulation, the sun will be darkened, and the moon will not give its light, and the stars will be falling from heaven, and the powers in the heavens will be shaken.  And then they will see the Son of Man coming in clouds with great power and glory.  And then he will send out the angels and gather his elect from the four winds, from the ends of the earth to the ends of heaven (Mark 13:24-27).

Now is the time to wake up and prepare to be used by God in this raging battle for a pure bride and for lost souls. We must endure to the end, through the end-of-the-age persecution and tribulation, and to work in the final harvest leading to the rapture, and then return with Christ to rule with him for a 1,000 years.

America is beyond reviving, and for the sincere Christian it is past time to become abiding citizens of the kingdom of Christ. Yet, God is patiently ordering these things to not all come at once, giving the deceived child of God time to wake up and get ready. “And when you hear of wars and tumults, do not be terrified, for these things must first take place, but the end will not be at once” (Luke 21:9).

There is work to be done in the power of the living God. Do not lose heart, for Christ is coming and the world of the wicked and the false Christian will be dealt with by the wrath of God. And we are not destined for his wrath—the persecution by the wicked and the devil’s Great Tribulation will be rough, but compared to God’s wrath it’s a cake walk.

For now, learn to walk in the kingdom of Christ—in purity, in his strength, becoming dead to self and alive to God.

Let the wicked have their way—we get it all back in the end!

Beating a Dead Horse

The Prophets of Prosperity are trying to Wipe Egg from Their Faces

angif-flog-a%20dead-horse-defThe end-of-this-age is racing towards us and most visible leaders of God’s people are prophesying from their own hearts to save face. All the predictions of Christ and the Apostles clearly describe this hour, the birth pangs of the coming kingdom and the Great Tribulation.

Yet prophets like Cindy Jacobs, Loren Sandford, Dutch Sheets, Rodney Howard-Browne, Greg Laurie, Reinhard Bonnke, Mike Huckabee, Kenneth Copeland, Rick Joyner, Mike Bickle,  James Goll, Jack Hayford, Ben Carson, David Barton, Chuck Pierce and the list goes on—all prophesy that an awakening and revival must come so God can save America.

Read what Ezekiel wrote concerning the same type of prophetic nonsense of his day, as Israel stood at the edge of severe judgment, those prophets did not warn God’s people to prepare for what is to come. “They have seen false visions and lying divinations. They say, ‘Declares the LORD,’ when the LORD has not sent them, and yet they expect him to fulfill their word. Have you not seen a false vision and uttered a lying divination, whenever you have said, ‘Declares the LORD,’ although I have not spoken? (Ezekiel 13:6-7).

The prophets of today, like the false prophets in Ezekiel’s day are prophesying from their own hearts and following their own spirits. Instead of warning how to prepare for what is coming most are prophesying false hope concerning America. These are beating a dead horse, in the hope of preventing the inevitable from taking place, to circumvent the end-of-this-age from coming, which includes the judgment of America and a wayward and apostate church.

“Thus says the Lord GOD, Woe to the foolish prophets who follow their own spirit, and have seen nothing!  Your prophets have been like jackals among ruins, O Israel. You have not gone up into the breaches, or built up a wall for the house of Israel, that it might stand in battle in the day of the LORD.  They have seen false visions and lying divinations. They say, ‘Declares the LORD,’ when the LORD has not sent them, and yet they expect him to fulfill their word” (Ezekiel 13:3-6).

Nomad Christians Part 3

The Great Wilderness Exodus is coming for the Fellowship Weary

Transformed in the Wilderness?

In Scripture, the wilderness is often used by God to hone and refine godly character within his people and especially those whom God has called to be his messengers. However, in times of apostasy and corruption within God’s people and their organized religion, true believers are often attacked and forced to retreat into the wilderness for their own safety, sanity, and preservation of true faith.

Unfortunately, most true believers who give up on trying to find a suitable fellowship (there are some—but not many) find themselves on their own in no-man’s land, struggling to find help with their walk and growth in Christ. Their own wounds are left undressed, where only corporate ministry by the true body of Christ in fellowship can facilitate total recovery and wholeness. The wounds of God’s people everywhere are covered up and latent. Lingering past defilements, spiritual trauma, damaged emotions, and various self-centered issues are endemic—likened to Jeremiah’s prognosis of his day: “From the least to the greatest everyone is greedy for unjust gain; from prophet to priest, everyone deals falsely. They have healed the wound of my people lightly, saying, ‘Peace, peace,’ when there is no peace” (Jeremiah 8:10-11).

Granted, it is better to limp along in the wilderness than to comply with the lies of churchianity that usually lead to a slow death of faith in Christ. Churchianity with its false teachings tends to groom and program believers in Christ to put their faith in man’s teachings, and to live and work for the organization’s agenda. The nature of false doctrine is to make believers in Christ dependent on leadership and blindly follow, not reading Scripture for themselves or learning to hear and obey the voice of Christ individually.

But without accountability with other like-minded believers and true leadership as described in Ephesians 4:11-16, nomad Christians trekking alone in the wilderness miss vital character transforming processes.

 Not Trusting God for Others

Perhaps the most sorely missed aspect of being transformed into Christ-likeness for the Christian in no man’s land is learning to trust God for others. Fears and expectations of betrayal within fellowship-relationships often obstruct the wounded or insecure nomad Christian from becoming closely involved with others. A standoffish approach to working and sharing within fellowship, even with family becomes part of the nomad Christian’s carnal boundary-setting dynamic. Growing in grace and mentoring others requires getting to know others on a personal basis and being known by others with proper boundaries. Those proper boundaries are laid out in the New Testament, with the foundational guidelines of grace, truth, humility, confession, and love. Importantly, proper boundaries grow with a healthy fear of God, respect for others, and proper respect with discernment towards leadership.

The avoidance of becoming vulnerable and real in the lives of others is one of the most difficult carnal defense mechanisms any Christian must overcome and more so for the nomad Christian, for many hide in the wilderness suffering from relationship abuses and betrayals. Like any other carnal issue this characteristic must be brought to death and the wounds supporting this personality dynamic must be healed in Christ.

Intimacy with Christ without the interference of close relationships on earth is all too easy for the nomad Christian. And for a season Christ will reveal himself to the nomad Christian while they are protected in the isolation of the wilderness. However, to be an effective disciple of Christ one must become vulnerable to the disappointments by others and not flinch when it happens.

Christ’s example of holding people at a proper distance, yet being personable, open, and honest is the disciple’s benchmark for Christ-like character development. Christ did not trust himself to anyone, yet he was trustworthy, approachable, non-condemning, and insightful, thus very influential in the personal lives of others.

Now when he was in Jerusalem at the Passover feast, many believed in his name when they saw the signs which he did;  but Jesus did not trust himself to them, because he knew all men and needed no one to bear witness of man; for he himself knew what was in man.” (John 2:25-25).

Non-Constructive Burden Bearing

The nomad Christian does learn many aspects of true discipleship while in no man’s land. However, for most the law of Christ becomes easily misunderstood, where bearing the burden of others who struggle becomes a ministry of continual correction with little or no empathy.  (See Galatians 6:1-5.) Often, when a strong, yet wounded nomad Christian does find a fellowship home, they inevitably work themselves into a position of informal leadership and gain the reputation as being the fellowship sage, giving advice and counsel, yet at the same time being aloof to the goals and plans of the fellowship leaders. They still hide in their own wilderness type fortification, unwilling to examine their own inner motives in true humility.

Pointing out the mistakes and issues in others in the guise of helping becomes their forte or gift, yet it becomes their sense of wellbeing and they begin to draw life from helping others rather than from Christ, ultimately taking the place of the Holy Spirit’s work in the lives others.

Other bent character formations lurk in the wilderness for the nomad Christian where Satan brings a unique set of deception and often cultivates counterfeit gifts.

Carnal Spiritualism and False Voices—Picked up in the Wilderness

The practicing of the gifts of the Holy Spirit throughout much of Christendom has become a popular and yet a very misunderstood activity. Discernment of the counterfeit gifts is virtually non-existent, where carnal spiritualism is hoisted up as a move of the Holy Spirit in just about every sector of the body of Christ.

Carnal and false leaders push God’s people towards obtaining spiritual power with little-to-no regard to the Holy Spirit’s work of discipline, sanctification, training, timing, and leadership. Christians in the wilderness can also become deceived by a corrupt desire for God’s power and lust after the gifts. Many nomad Christians become caught-up in coveting the power of God for reputation, or a self-aggrandized agenda, or to overcome defilement and issues of heart—just as easily as the duped Christian trapped in charismatic-Pentecostalism forms of churchianity.

The nomad Christian becomes highly susceptible to a false shepherd’s voice as they struggle alone, missing the accountability found in like-minded fellowship. Likewise, the written word of God becomes easily misunderstood and its power to become living and active is diminished without corporate discipleship interaction. Even in the wilderness, arrogance can easily take root and the deep motives of heart that are contrary to God’s will and purposes remain hidden—yet seep out through carnal prayers.

What Manner of Spirit?

Some have a Zealot Mentality and Arrogant Elitism

A contrary condition of heart is a plague to most believers in Christ including nomad Christians. On the surface most committed Christians feel a true love for Jesus and are willing to follow Christ anywhere. However, when trials and relationship challenges come, the true condition of heart and spirit comes out.

As the original disciples followed Christ, on many occasions their true motives and disposition of heart became apparent, giving Christ opportunity to point out these issues. In those accounts in Scripture Christ corrected his followers and disciples and this is still the case today. Unfortunately, few discern Christ’s means of correcting a carnal and contrary heart—especially when leadership is lacking Christ-like character and is aloof to the carnal conceit so many walk in.  The following passage with footnote is an example of how easily the serious believer in Christ can develop a zealot mentality and become filled with arrogant elitism.

When the days drew near for him to be taken up, he set his face to go to Jerusalem. And he sent messengers ahead of him, who went and entered a village of the Samaritans, to make preparations for him.  But the people did not receive him, because his face was set toward Jerusalem.  And when his disciples James and John saw it, they said, “Lord, do you want us to tell fire to come down from heaven and consume them?”  But he turned and rebuked them. [Some manuscripts add and he said, ‘You do not know what manner of spirit you are of; for the Son of Man came not to destroy people’s lives but to save them.’] And they went on to another village” (Luke 9:51-56).

The nomad Christian easily succumbs to a carnal zeal to restore God’s people to right relationship with Christ. This zeal often lacks humility and wisdom, where motives of heart and a spirit of destruction seeps into their prayer life causing trouble and destruction rather than intersession that is heard from on high.

The nomad Christian can easily develop a disdain for anyone not aligned with their zeal, including established leadership and organized church. For the most part, this disdain becomes hidden from one’s own understanding and unconsciously emanates in fellowship and relationships. Thus, an aura of standoffishness and spiritual smugness often hovers over the nomad Christian like a dark cloud.

Giving Up the Nomad-Zealot Mentality

Becoming Part of the True Body of Christ

In the days to come, Christians everywhere will face increased persecution and demonic oppression. Much of this persecution has already arisen within Christianity as Christians increasingly turn against Christians. The growing schisms are led by false and carnal believers/leaders driven with anxiety and fear as they see the world falling apart. Many become radical activists with a mission to soften the Gospel, taking Christianity beyond “seeker friendly” into a “world-friendly” religion.

Already the internal meltdown has started within Christianity and soon a definite distinction between the false and the true will become glaring and confusing for the lost, the lukewarm, and the nomad Christian. The great falling away will begin and cause even greater rifts within Christianity as true ministries and fellowships begin to boldly appear proclaiming the good news of the coming kingdom. (See Matthew 24:9-14.)

For the nomad Christian, hiding in the wilderness will no longer be sanctioned by the Lord. The call to come out from amongst the false and worldly is coming to the confused church-going believer, with the urge to become unified in fellowship with true believers. The nomad Christian will not be exempt to this call of the Holy Spirit.

And with this call comes an urgent pressure to work on the heart to foster unity among the brethren and recognition of true leadership. This will require the nomad Christian to give up any vestige of the zealot approach to making things happen for God. Learning to submit to true leadership without becoming a “people-pleaser” or a “yes-boy” will be one of the nomad Christian’s challenges. There will be a great need for accountability amongst the true body of Christ, from the least to the greatest. Review Galatians and the Apostle Paul’s approach to holding others accountable (including leadership) to the true Gospel. The main issue for all in the coming days will be to grasp a true and solid understanding of the Gospel of Christ marked by example living.

What We Went Through in the Wilderness

These insights have been gained by way of our own wilderness journey as a ministry and for me personally, which all began some forty years ago. My personal wilderness trek started in the spring of 1975, the moment I gave God permission to do whatever it would take to change me into the person God called me to be. I concluded that prayer of commitment by asking the Lord not to stop the work, even if I asked him to stop.

Within a few months of that prayer the first of many trials and disappointments came crashing down upon my life and ministry. At the time I was a very young and naive assistant pastor in my home town Free Methodist church, which is an evangelical holiness denomination.

I was introduced abruptly to the insidious work of a hireling senior pastor and weak conference leadership that did little to mentor, train, or exercise discernment concerning pastoral appointments. In the winter of 1975-76, I found myself looking for a new fellowship home and a different denomination to continue on in ministry. Through the following years I worked in evangelical, Pentecostal, and charismatic fellowships until 1990 when I was led by the Lord to stop trying to change city hall and strike out on my own. (Stop trying to Change city hall, meaning that no true reform comes from within a corrupt and wayward organization, but true change comes from the outside and apart from the influence of the false.)

Nineteen ninety was the beginning of another long journey with the start of a non-denominational home fellowship where I counseled during the week and held Sunday meetings. Our support group met on Thursday evenings wherever we could use an empty church basement or someone’s larger recreation room.

Through those twenty-five years we saw many Christians come and go, looking for a magic teaching or a wondrous supernatural experience to make their lack of peace and instability disappear painlessly. Case after case of heart aching accounts of abuse and roots of dark bondage were revealed and yet few embraced the work of the cross and followed Christ.

Most who did drop out did so because as a pastor I refused to do their work for them. Many wanted me, as their counselor and pastor to make their inner turmoil disappear by relieving them of the responsibility of working out their own salvation in fear and trembling. (See Philippians 2:12-18.) It was the hard work of learning and being trained in discernment to deal with the vast issues of the fallen human nature and a wounded people who passively float along, wanting to play church.

We learned quickly to avoid trying to change Christianity and not to take on battles that the Holy Spirit was not guiding us in. We learned to work with those who God sent and grow up together and practice healthy scripturally based fellowship.

In waiting patiently upon the Lord and doing the hard work with no lime light upon us, our testing and trials proved our advancements. In this we gained much revelation and insight to develop sound doctrine that helps the sincere disciple follow Christ and not lean on us. We learned to die to our own agenda and not control and manipulate others, but present the entire Gospel of Christ with no strings attached.

And we experienced many disappointments as we learned how deceitful the human heart can become—how easily the devil can fill an evil unbelieving heart when you least expect it.

Taking Courage to become Vulnerable

Trusting God, not Ourselves or Others

To expect others not to disappoint us is something every true disciple of Christ must overcome. Trusting God for others, which includes allowing them to make mistakes and be disappointments, is a key Christ-like character. Few seasoned believers in Christ ever achieve this godly attribute.

Instead, most walk in fear of being let down and learn to subtly control fellowship friendships, spouses, children and extended family to the extent of becoming obsessed. Many saints walk in such bondage to relationships  and suffer a spectrum of relationship idolatry, from mild anxiety to extreme phobia.

Christ’s discipline will take every saint (including those hiding in the wilderness) into the valley of relationship death, where trusting God for others brings freedom and peace. This work cannot be accomplished in the wilderness entirely, only by way of healthy body life within solid fellowship as guided by true leadership in Christ. We are to diligently learn to speak the truth in love and, “to grow up in every way into him who is the head, into Christ, from whom the whole body, joined and held together by every joint with which it is equipped, when each part is working properly, makes the body grow so that it builds itself up in love” (Ephesians 4:15-17).

An Invisible Fragmented Remnant

Unfortunately, the body of Christ is not joined and working properly together, making the body of Christ grow up in divine love. Rather, what does exist is a fragmented remnant of sincere believers strewn here and there throughout America and the world. Stuck in troubled fellowships or in the wilderness isolated, yet with many working in true ministries and fellowships, preparing for the coming day.

This fragmented remnant has very little power and very little recognition, but presses on to the high call of God in Christ Jesus. Soon, when a threshold of fear has been reached God will call, assemble, and make visible a mighty army that knows Christ intimately. They will carry the clarion call to come out from the false and from the deceit of this world. Their message will be the good news of the coming kingdom.

No Saint Left Out or Left Behind

True Ministries Must Be Prepared

An exodus and gathering of true believers in Christ is about to start, where the nomad Christian and sincere Christian in fellowship alike will seek unity of fellowship with likeminded believers. The unifying catalysts for this coming final move of God will be from increased persecution, extreme wickedness, signs in the heavens, the earth reeling from one disaster after another, droughts and economic hardships, nations teetering with crime and instability, wars, Israel under continued oppression, and a very confused Christianity becoming more and more divided. The Holy Spirit will increasingly call saint after saint wherever they are to wake up, come away, and prepare.

It will be a time for true ministries, fellowships, and for unheard of servants declaring in great power the message of how to become cleansed and transformed into a true servant of Christ. True ministries and true servants who are waking up now must become prepared to handle masses of frightened people who will be desperately seeking the truth. Most importantly, each must walk in discernment, where Christian workers and leaders will need to be experts in the gifts and rightly hear Christ’s voice to avoid the false and to weed out the tares planted by the evil one.

A Kingdom of God People

Love, Unity and Power for the Last Days True Church

Christ will see to it that the body of Christ, his church, will be pure, united, and walking together in love with him—in one voice. A people reflecting the glory of his presence within his body—”a kingdom of God” people truly distinguished from the false and the wayward.

If you are wandering in no man’s land and have given up on seeing His church become His bride, then it is our prayer that this message will warm your heart and move you to seek his face and prepare to be part of what God is about to do.

Nomad Christians Part 2

The Great Wilderness Exodus is coming for the Fellowship Weary

In the days to come true ministries and godly fellowships will start to be recognized by nomad Christians and other dissatisfied believers, including hordes of church-hoppers. With events in the world and in this nation growing worse an exodus of the fellowship weary and consumer Christian alike will begin to take place. A multitude will begin to rush towards any kind of seemingly true leadership and true fellowship desperately looking for answers and true Holy Spirit manifestations.

The issues will be many, and true leadership will be strained in mentoring and making sincere and teachable disciples into a mature body of believers prepared to minister and live in extreme difficulties. The main challenge for the nomad Christian (and those leaving churchianity) is having a willingness to submit to the discipline of the Lord. In that discipline will be the constant directive by the Lord to embrace sound doctrine brought forth by true servant-leaders who are examples, who have learned the ropes and are walking the walk.

This will be difficult for the nomad Christian who has learned to be independent and often uncommitted to the hard work of character and relationship building amongst other Christians. God calls his people to live and work together in godly body life, where other likeminded believers learn to die to the works of the flesh. A true disciple of Christ is called to relate to others in Christ-likeness, not hide from others. Those others, in healthy fellowships will also be in process learning to die to carnal motives, carnal spiritualism, insecurities, jealousies, self-reliance, competition, and other thin-skinned reactions and selfish behaviors.

Any solid last day fellowship having God’s hand upon it will strain towards unity in love and purity, making Christ head of all. This is the call of God today, making disciples who work together walking in the kingdom life (in the fullness of Christ)—to refresh your memory concerning this commission, read again Ephesians 4:11-16.

Suffering from a Skewed Wilderness Faith

Lack of sound instruction on Christ’s teachings and New Testament principles concerning fellowship and people relationships is one of the major defects in churchianity. Indeed, most church going Christians succumb to leadership idolatry, where arrogant ministers crave the accolades of men and dare not preach how to walk in godliness. The Apostle Paul exhorts, “Teach and urge these things. If anyone teaches a different doctrine and does not agree with the sound words of our Lord Jesus Christ and the teaching that accords with godliness, he is puffed up with conceit and understands nothing. He has an unhealthy craving for controversy and for quarrels about words, which produce envy, dissension, slander, evil suspicions, and constant friction among people who are depraved in mind and deprived of the truth, imagining that godliness is a means of gain” (1 Timothy 6:3-5).

Likewise, the lack of knowledge and training in working out godly relationships between the members of a fellowship is also a major issue with most nomad Christians. The sacrifice of learning relationship accountability is a costly side effect for the nomad Christian when they can not find a healthy church home. Granted, nomad Christians hide in the wilderness as a means of survival, learning to avoid the false and the corrupt that has invaded most fellowships—however, learning to work together in fellowship and dying to carnal motives is a vital necessity for maturing in Christ.

The inability to discern and ward off the wolves and game players that churchianity collects and even helps produce was a major reason the wilderness became so appealing. However, the safety of the wilderness does not allow a deepening of discerning skills or the development of spiritual strength for the end-of-the-age challenges of everyday living and ministry. (See John 17:15-19 and 1 Corinthians 5:10).

In escaping to the safety of the wilderness, the proverb, “Iron sharpens iron, and one man sharpens another” (Proverbs 27:17) is lost in the isolation of no man’s land. In our fellowship we give this principle our own adage—that the gunk in others brings out the gunk in ourselves.

Thus, in growing up into Christ, fellowshipping with others will have relationship challenges that, if understood will help facilitate healing, recovery, and character development. It is very important to realize, for any believer in Christ, that relationship accountability is not to be avoided. It is God’s training ground and the main arena for his discipline.

Wounded, Bitter, and Anti-Authoritarian

Renegades to any form of organized church

As mentioned, many Christians will soon be leaving false and carnal fellowships and many wilderness trekked saints will also appear at the doorsteps of solid ministries and true fellowships. With most that do come there will be great difficulties in becoming part of a healthy, growing family of God.  Most nomad Christians coming will either be unable or unwilling to see, understand, and crucify their own entrenched carnal motives for serving the Lord. To them, they have learned to be content in their anti-establishment attitude and carry a self-imposed cross where an inner martyred self-righteous stance covers up their own lack of grace, truth, and Christ-like character.

Through years of seeing national leaders fall and personally experiencing failed leadership, a bitter expectation towards authority has formed. Thus, submitting to proper authority and accountability within a true fellowship will grate against their ingrained nomad ways. (That grating will not stop unless a proper understanding is reached concerning how the work of the cross in the believer’s life is facilitated by God).

Years of disappointment makes it difficult for the nomad Christian to realize and sort out their own deep fears of rejection or being used and abused as they try to become part of a true fellowship. The nomad Christian will tend to be standoffish, making others feel uncomfortable, and then misread any carnal reactions in others as snootiness or cliquishness.  To compensate, the nomad Christian will express their knowledge of scripture to counterbalance the insecure feelings and try to assert themselves as a spiritually more advanced Christian.

These and other issues will hinder leadership’s efforts to facilitate team work and the development of Christ-like character within the body life of a fellowship under the Lord’s discipline. Unless there is a breakthrough in understanding, eventually the nomad Christian will likely recoil from embracing sound doctrine that exposes and helps crucify hidden carnal issues of the heart.

A Super-Saint’s Spiritual Pride

Faith that Lacks Grace and Truth in the Inward Being

To maintain an inner self-righteous stance the wilderness surviving believer becomes prone to project spiritual elitism that subtly elevates themselves in the eyes of others, yet they learn to deflect any praise by humble self-abasement. They appear to be on top of their sin nature and carnality by presenting an austere almost monk-like lifestyle. The Apostle Paul warned of this kind of Christian walk by stating that self-imposed mortification has “an appearance of wisdom in promoting rigor of devotion and self-abasement and severity to the body, but they are of no value in checking the indulgence of the flesh” (Colossians 2:23 RSV).

Confused within by a hidden and subtle self-fulfilling endeavor to serve God, the devil slowly diverts the zealous nomad Christian from becoming a true servant-leader. Like sword packing Peter, he had zeal to fight for Christ and clipped off the ear of one of the temple servants then later denies even knowing Christ. In similar fashion many nomad Christians pack a trouble making attitude. When they plunge into confronting the carnality in others, often they run and hide when the confrontation gets too hot and requires grace and truth in the Lord for healthy resolution. Learning to die to our own carnal zeal in serving Christ is very hard and requires mentoring from others who have succeeded in dying to an inner self-righteous stance and associated motives.

The hardest aspect of following Christ for most Christians, including those struggling in the wilderness is to understand and walkout Christ’s covenant of grace and truth. “For from his fullness we have all received, grace upon grace.  For the law was given through Moses; grace and truth came through Jesus Christ” (John 1:16-18 ESV) Thus, many devout believers in Christ, especially the nomad Christian will often struggle with the Old Testament laws and regulations, and the prophets—missing how these apply to us now—which should be applied only in light of the Gospel of Christ.

Few Christians today are able to work with the Holy Spirit and the written word of God in detecting hidden carnal motives that are mixed with genuine faith and obedience.

Hidden Wounds and Defilements

Neglectful, dysfunctional, or abusive parenting during childhood poses great difficulty for nomad Christians in their attempt to grasp the grace and love of God. The need to perform in order to be approved by God becomes the central drive in serving God. This drive subtly becomes a self-righteous inner stance for all of life, especially in dealing with churchianity (a term we use to describe an apostate condition where the grace of God is trampled upon and the Spirit of grace is often outraged).

This makes the Christ-like attribute of patience and grace towards themselves and others a vague or hazy concept. Legalism and perfectionism creep into their motives in serving God and interacting with others. Thus, many attempt to become a super-saint unconsciously.

As they see the waywardness in Christians everywhere they are prone to become zealots in decrying churchianity. This zeal (to point out lukewarm-ness and apostasy in others) increases whenever the Holy Spirit attempts to convict them of any inner issues they can’t or won’t see within their own hearts. Their zeal and drive for Christ and restoring righteousness to the Church actually helps cover up their own wounds and damaged emotions that sustain their own brand of carnality and denial thereof.

Wrong Side of the Cross

Suffering from a John the Baptist Faith

Many nomad Christians look to the cross as a way of life they must enact as they carnally drive a death-to-self lifestyle and at least attempt to become self-abased and holy. However, most nomad Christians are insecure and competitive and suffer from deep jealous feelings within their secret heart. Truth in the inward being and applying wisdom toward discovering the motives of the secret heart is a threat to their wellbeing. Becoming broken of their inner self-righteous stance is akin to literally destroying their life as a super-saint. (One of the very things the work of the cross within the believer’s life is meant to do).

Perhaps the most challenging aspect of the nomad Christian’s walk is overcoming their lack of understanding how to facilitate the work of the cross within the believer’s life. (For that matter most believers in Christ are challenged in properly understanding how death to the carnal self-life is accomplished).

Note: A John the Baptist approach to following Christ becomes attractive for the sincere saint fed up with churchianity. This type of faith is used by Satan to blind the need to die to an Old Testament type of faith that John the Baptist lived. John the Baptist looked to the coming Christ and practiced the law faithfully, and that required a wilderness life of self-imposed hardships and extreme self-pummeling to suppress the desires of the flesh. That approach, like the prophets of old was to end when John the Baptist died as a martyr. John the Baptist dying signified the death of the old covenant and a handing off to Jesus the work of bringing and establishing the new covenant of grace, truth, death to the old nature, and resurrection into a Christ-like nature. (See Hebrews 8:13).

“Truly, I say to you, among those born of women there has arisen no one greater than John the Baptist. Yet the one who is least in the kingdom of heaven is greater than he. From the days of John the Baptist until now the kingdom of heaven has suffered violence, and the violent take it by force. For all the Prophets and the Law prophesied until John,  and if you are willing to accept it, he is Elijah who is to come.  He who has ears to hear, let him hear.” (Matthew 11:11-15 ESV underlined added).

The principle of the cross and its death to all self-driven adherence to the law brings freedom. Christ in this passage is setting forth a transition from the Old Covenant faith to the New Covenant faith, where newness of life, power over the sin nature, and freedom from flesh driven religion is found only in Christ. End of note.

The commands of Christ are very poignant concerning dying to the carnal life, such as “If anyone comes to me and does not hate his own father and mother and wife and children and brothers and sisters, yes, and even his own life, he cannot be my disciple. Whoever does not bear his own cross and come after me cannot be my disciple (Luke 14:26-27 underline added).

One cannot choose their own death-to-self processes or circumstances. When we present ourselves as a living sacrifice (see Romans 12:1-2,) we must understand and submit to what and how God brings us into various death-to-self situations. Moreover, we must recognize each event and then pick up our cross by submitting to the situation and embracing the pain of seeing our hidden selfishness and self-glorifying motives be exposed—that we might die to them.

Another saying we often share with each other is: the flesh cannot crucify the flesh. When we try to bring death to our inner motives by way of our own volition and ingenuity, we ultimately suppress the inner carnal desire and reprogram our outer nature to live in pious control of our life. Piously controlled living will quickly impinge upon those around us—in family life, with friends, and within the family of God in fellowship.

We short circuit Christ’s work of exposing, showing, and applying his life-giving power that renews. Many Christians, especially sincere believers who are waking up to the sick condition of the body of Christ, easily fall back into carnal religious bondage—enslaved to self-imposed holiness by reprogramming themselves, only to unknowingly walk in self-righteousness. True brokenness and humility that is to be obtained in Christ’s discipline is replaced by false humility and hypocrisy.

It is God’s purpose to conform us to Christ. This is to be done in freedom from any religious self-effort, in his discipline and timing. “Now the Lord is the Spirit, and where the Spirit of the Lord is, there is freedom. And we all, with unveiled face, beholding the glory of the Lord, are being transformed into the same image from one degree of glory to another. For this comes from the Lord who is the Spirit” (2 Corinthians 3:17-18).

When we try to crucify our canal passions and desires in self-strength, we open ourselves up to the hordes of false teachings delivered by teachers who claim to know the right methods in becoming Christ-like—methods that supposedly produce successful, prosperous, and happy believers. To this, a counterfeiting spirit assists the deceived with reprogramming themselves, which ultimately preempts the transforming power of the Lord.

In part three, our final installment, we will look at the more deceiving and destructive aspects of carnal driven holiness and the zealot activist approach many nomad Christians give way to. In addition, we will discuss God’s ultimate plan in calling the nomad Christian, the lukewarm Christian, and those stuck in churchianity into true fellowship as Christ restores his bride in purity, splendor, and power.

Nomad Christians Part 1

The Great Wilderness Exodus is coming for the Fellowship Weary

For years, there has been a large group of devout Christians wandering in the wilderness, disenfranchised and frustrated while in search for true fellowship. These believers wander from fellowship to fellowship in discontentment—their numbers ever increase as local fellowships everywhere slide further into the apostasy of churchianity (most fellowships are engulfed by an end-time Babylonian culture).

Totally disheartened and turned off by the backslid condition of organized Christianity, the nomad Christian gives up seeking a church home and wanders into no-man’s land, finding fellowship here and there with other disillusioned wanderers.

Most do not attend church on a regular basis, receiving spiritual food from scripture and a sincere prayer life. Some find insight and encouragement from older Christian literature and obscure ministries on the Internet. While a few may find a healthy fellowship here or there but find that they have to uproot and move to attend regularly. Many visit church after church ending up attending the least corrupt as they bite their lower lip to keep from disrupting meetings in outrage over the shallow Gospel message. Moreover, most recognize the warning signs concerning America’s moral downfall and approaching judgment that will include God’s people.

These non-conforming believers are fed up with false national leaders and the many local leaders who go along with damning messages of an easy road gospel, riding waves of popularity associated with the doctrines of men and demons. (1 Timothy 4:1-5, 2 Timothy 3:1-9, 4:3-4).

These are Not Revolving Door Church Hoppers

Do not confuse these precious saints with the consumer Christian who roves continuously looking for the best deal in fellowship amenities. The church hopper is a very different breed of believer—that is to say the church hopper looks to leadership and church staff as their tireless servants who are to provide gripping, entertaining, and never ceasing performances. These revolving door believers roam from fellowship to fellowship looking for the next fad teaching, the next carnally led revival, or the next higher-level power-leader. The church hopper thrives on the continuous search for that perfect dose of spiritual Prozac that makes all their emotional and mental anguish disappear.

To the nomad Christian, the church hopper is another by-product of churchianity, adding credence to their stand against marketing the Gospel to the undiscerning and immature. However, the nomad Christian is also at great risk of deception as they strive to know Christ in the wilderness while avoiding churchianity.

Misled in the Wilderness

The nomad Christian complains of the spiritual abuse in most fellowships they visit or attend, not realizing that they themselves suffer from their own carnal motives of heart. It is easy to find fault in carnal and wayward churches, however, in the nomad Christian’s mind their brand of fault finding is to them discernment and being led by the Holy Spirit.

In their seeing the faults they either take on each wayward fellowship they encounter or slide into anonymity, coming out of hiding now and again to check things out. This condition allows Satan to mislead and hinder a nomad Christian from becoming incorporated into a true last days ministry or a fellowship that the Lord is in the process of raising up. Many a nomad Christian is blinded by the devil in recognizing a true fellowship that is under God’s discipline, training, and sanctifying work.

As Satan misleads many sincere yet gullible Christians through popular false leaders and movements in these last days (as Christ warned in Matthew 24:4-5,) so too, these disconcerted wilderness Christians are highly prone to their own brand of deception.

For the carnally driven saint, the wilderness becomes one of the devil’s better beguiling opportunities. As these dear saints wake up to the false everywhere, in their seeing they become puffed up. Indeed, they have a true call upon their lives and yearn to become prepared to work in the Lord’s army and be ready on the day that God acts—however, they are stubbornly in gross denial of their own carnal motives of heart.

This condition of denial is similar to Peter’s, and in this condition Satan has a right to sift as many nomad Christians as possible. The Lord attempts to build up the nomad Christian’s faith in the wilderness that their faith might not fail when Satan comes to sift. (But this faith strengthening is hampered by lack of sound teachings of the work of the cross in the believer’s life and recovery from wounds to the spirit and damaged emotions).

The sifting by the devil catches them in their pride of knowing the truth and their cocky self-reliance, causing them to be led astray by a counterfeiting voice, often accompanied by false miracles. The initial Holy Spirit work of awakening them to the truth becomes a snare. At first, the Lord reveals and awakens them by revelation, with answered prayer, or some personal signs and wonders, or even with occasional prophetic dreams, yet when the Holy Spirit speaks to their own carnal issues, wounds, and self-reliance, they turn a deaf ear.

Insecurity, self-pity, and the need to prove their own validity drives most nomad Christians to withdraw, hide and bemoan the terrible condition of God’s people. Often they have been battered and torn by other Christians who are engrossed and trapped in churchianity, or ripped by hirelings and wolves in leadership. Thus, they give up trying to minister or speak out and turn to a wilderness existence similar to a John the Baptist form of reclusiveness. Then, in the power of a John the Baptist faith personal trials eventually cause that type of carnal faith to wane and then the sifting begins, causing many to backslide and even renounce Christ.

Some do find a healthy fellowship that is in the character growing process, but their ultra-sensitivity to the carnality in others becomes a challenge to their perfectionistic and grace-less expectations. In this case most allow their own insecurities and lack of grace and understanding to stir up distrust and bitter expectations that project trouble—then the trouble does come and off they go—back into the wilderness.

I would be remiss by not offering a remedy and the Lord’s ultimate goal for his wounded and disenfranchised wilderness saint. Therefore, the next installment of this article addresses how a nomad Christian can truly walk in the fullness of Christ and become part of God’s end of the age work.
